Military action
Where there were Overlords, there were resistances. Many good-aligned adventurers saw the common folk buckling under tyrannical reign, and decided that things needed to change: they would often manage to contact these resistances in some way, and eventually dethrone them by means of a small revolution.
The profession of adventurer gaining traction proved very beneficial for women's rights, as it became more normalized for a woman to take up arms in service of her kingdom. Female soldiers, adventurers and even female Heroes became more commonplace. And over time, the practice even became normalized: many commoners cared not who would break their unjust chains. As long as they were freed, they were grateful. Many a village-torching by an Overlord would produce brave heroes: often, there would be at least one survivor of the tragedy. However, it was not uncommon for Overlord attacks for the sake of grandstanding like these to produce more then one hero from the same sacked village: while they rarely to never travelled together, one small village could mean the downfall of more then one tyrant. Due to resource scarcities ending more often, armor became more standardized: up until this point, the armor for male and female adventurers differed greatly: the same breastplate looked oddly smaller on a female adventurer. While some felt more liberated by this, this common practice to save materials was often much to a female adventurer's complaint, as they felt overly exposed to ranged attacks on their long quests to slay Overlords. However, due to resource scarcities ending more often, regular breastplates and greaves could be mass produced for female adventurers.
