The Dusk Isle Slave Riots

Revolution

222

Ravgaal the Chainbreaker had long developed a distaste for servitude under her Overlord, and enacts her plans to free her fellows. Together with her two friends, Tarerin and Pogvuyuk, she starts a riot amongst the slaves of the Dusk Isle, and the slaves successfully take over the barracks. From here, she will use this place as a base of operations for the revolutionaries, and will set her sights higher, and plan to start a revolution.

The slaver running the Dusk Isle blacksmith factory island was known to only leave slaves off their shackles during work, as guards were set to kill anyone who attempted escape during work hours. He would have slaves re-shackle their fellow slaves after work, and this went on a schedule. Should the slave refuse, they would be subjected to a week of intense torture. While beatings weren't uncommon, some were driven mad by what happened in these dungeons, only to be slain later for being unable to work due to what broke them. Many did this horrid duty out of sheer terror for what may await them.   Tarierin knew he would be next in line for this vile duty, but he had a plan for this day. Pogvuyuk had been sneaking materials for traps into the work area for months, and had slowly assembled them over time, working whenever the guards were changing shifts: this was to prevent the guards from intervening immediately. He asked Ravgaal to make sure she was first in line to be re-shackled after work. He would replace the enchanted, ice-hardened steel chains that would be used on the Orcish Ravgaal with ones made out of regular steel beforehand, which her people were known to easily be able to break. Ravgaal agreed, as the metal wouldn't pose a challenge to her might in particular. With all three friends free to move, they would be able to disarm the guards, and hopefully make their way to the slaver in the ensuin chaos to slay him. Everything was set to free their fellows.   When the moment came, Ravgaal followed along with the plan, but managed to do even more. After Tarierin put the sabotaged shackles on her, she used her strong legs to flip behind the nearby guard, and strangled him with the chain. Tarierin took the knife from the guard's belt, and slew him by stabbing him in the neck, while Ravgaal took the sword from the man's belt after breaking the chains on her shackles. As planned, the rest of the guards rushed to intervene, but were quickly pinned by Pogvuyuk's incapacitating traps. As the mighty Orc held off the ones managing to avoid the field of traps together with the other slaves who had managed to steal weapons, the Goblin managed to swipe a sword off of one of Ravgaal's victims, rejoining their friends. Tarierin had managed to blindside quite a few guards attempting to shackle the other slaves. The friends managed to gegroup within the chaos, and together with the other slaves, they fought their way to the nearby slaver's office.   The slaver was just leaving his office to check up on his workers, and tried to flee in the chaos. But he was quickly cornered by the trio. Tarierin forced the man to his knees, with the Dark Elf's boot on his head, as the slaver himself once did to the Ranger. The cruel slaver desperately pleaded for his life, to which Ravgaal famolusly replied with the ancient Hoarfrost saying: 'A slaver only pleads to mkeep his chains whole'. She then promptly beheaded him. The other slaves cheered as she walked out, holding up the monster's head, the terror still visible on his face, even in death. The day was won.
