The Overlord Raids

Disaster / Destruction

Along many an Overlord's way to power, several small towns would be pillaged and torched. One town was often sacked by more then one Overlord, so resources were scarce due to these attacks. Famines and shortages were common. The only hope many commoners had was underground resistances plotting the takedown of these tyrants, and brave adventurers to both eliminate the tyrant's army and the tyrant themselves.

Misogyny was more common amongst overlord circles during this era, as women often had no access to the position of Overlord itself. During this time, they could only hold power as either a mistress of the Overlord, or a trusted general of his at best. These wives of the Overlords were often called this, as while they married, they were rarely faithful. And the Overlords often considered their mistress as nothing more than a tool and meatshield in times of need. This all changed when Yasnia Baenund, also known as Yasnia the Dread, murdered her husband, and mysteriously was named as the heir to his throne in his last will. She was amongst the most infamous tyrants, and the Half-Orcish hero who had slain her was famously the only survivor of the direct confrontation with her.   However, a woman's life wasn't generally considered lesser on the Hero side of the conflict: numbers of female adventurers were rising around this time. As commoners were often completely reliant on these to rid them of these mighty oppressors, who was wielding the sword that would break their unjust chains mattered little to them.
