The Azure Shores

A bountiful coastal area, the Azure Shores lie east of the Rolling Flats. They are characterized by bustling trade hubs and quiet fishing towns.   In civilized areas, it's not uncommon to see a melting pot of different races: Humans are still the predominant inhabitants, but many others of the mortal races tend to settle in the Azure Shores. People are quite used to the sight of travelers, especially in the harbors. Those who feel persecuted in their hometowns often set out to build new lives in the Azure Shores. This area is known to produce some unique Rogues: often, these adventurers refuse to hide within the shadows like their colleagues, and instead take their refuge in audacity. These Rogues sail the seas, plunder the cargo of passing ships, and frequent seedier taverns. On land, they are easily recognized by their flamboyant outfits compared to a Rogue's usual dyed leather armor: would the infamous Swashbucker Rogues not commonly dress in darker colours then Bards, one would almost mistake them for one another. Once one sees their infamous black flag with a skull and crossbones rise on the mast of another ship, it is often already too late: these pirate ships will launch entering hooks, and its dread men will set upon their targeted ship in the blink of an eye.   Towns are often plagued by aquatic monsters, such as Sahagin, Sea Serpents, Krakens and Sirens. But if Merfolk are nearby, hapless towns can safely set out to fish... for a price. Towns often share a portion of their catch in return for protection against nearby threats: depending on the tribe, prices range from affordable to exorbitant. Merfolk are native to the oceans, and some despise the settlers for encroaching on their hunting grounds. But some tribes don't mind sharing their territory with Humans, and see the payment more as a form of respect to their culture.
