Skeleton

Quite the common sight in any Undead horde, the humble Skeleton is often one of the first Undead an adventurer encounters. Whether controlled by a Necromancer or the roving bands of mindless Undead wandering the wilds, they are an essential components of its footsoldiers. While humanoid Skeletons are most common, one can find skeletal versions of beasts or monsters as well. As bones are quite likely to disappear into the dirt during excavation, Necromancers often mix the bones of several creatures, creating odd human-beast or human-monster hybrids. This is a practice exclusive to Necromancers, however: Skeletons in the wild missing bones often try and replace them with ones matching their own, mindlessly excavating both marked and unmarked graves to do so. To think them non-sentient would be deeply underestimating them, however. While they are not as intelligent as humans, they are capable of simple tasks such as cleaning, guard duty, or basic construction. This makes them essential to any Necromancer's horde. Some exceptionally intelligent Skeletons are capable of certain complexer tasks. For example: Sayen's butler, Roger, was known to have the ability to read despite having a mock soul instead of his own.   Revenant Skeletons are exceedingly rare, though not impossible. They often find themselves unable to speak due to the vocal cords having long since rotted away. Most choose to instead communicate through sign language, or try and seek out pen and paper.
