Aralnon

The capital of the Dark Elf aristocracy, Aralnon is quite a sight for travellers. The city is surprisingly large, as the cave ceiling Dark Elf Boroughs reaches quite high, leaving ample space for majestic spires on some of their architecture. The streets are lit with bioluminescent lamps, made with natural materials; this leads to interesting lighting across the city. Both the royal palace and the Grand Temple of the Scorpion Queen lie in Aralnon: It is the center of Moruba worship, and the center of politics.

Government

Dark Elf society is an aristocracy: a few noble families make the laws of the land. They do have a queen, but her political power ends at either approving or declining laws. For example: If the nobles want to start a war, then she must either approve or decline the declaration for it. Within the noble families, the position of political representative is hereditary, and the family chooses its own heirs.   Every family has one area of expertise, and their word often weighs heavy on issues regarding their subject. These are as follows:   Vordridol family: Economics Drievnor family: Militairy Thabrozi family: Foreign Affairs Ghindra family: Inland Affairs Caemriran family: Education Isidran family: Religious Affairs Dhamrad family: Healthcare Zevnuith family: Environment   The representatives of each of these families meet within the palace, and debate on what to do about the issue at hand. Most of the families live nearby the palace, but the Isidran family lives closer to the Grand Temple of the Scorpion Queen.

Tourism

Many tourists come to the capital to try a famous Dark Elf dish called 'glow-worm escargots': it is cooked with the luminescent cave snails found in the Underground, and while the idea of eating the animals takes some getting used to for many outsiders, tourists who came to try the dish want to see the genuine version for themselves, and rave about the flavor after trying it. It pairs nice with the famous Pale Cave-Mouth wine: a lovely dry white wine, and it was named for a tradition of growing the grapes for it either in the mouth of a cave or right outside of it. But nowadays, the Dark Elves often grow the grapes in greenhouses. However, a Pale Cave Mouth may not be called as such if it has not been grown in the Dark Elf Boroughs. Aralnon is also famous for its wine culture: many inns organize tastings from time to time.   However, some tourists come to admire the fashion: the male corsets found in Dark Elf fashion are quite the unique sight, and many fashionistas want to try one on. The Dark Elves are trendsetters to a degree: some subsets of other mortal races have fallen in love with a certain genre of Dark Elf music, and have adopted elements of Dark Elf fashion into their own looks.
