Malum Ideae (Mal-um Ei-dae)

Malum is a hotly contested magical figure as he is argued to be both the first Wizard or the first Sorcerer. Wizards often cite his strong inquizical nature and his study into magic being how he gained the first two spells, while other scholars argue that his incredible destructive power with little to no training can only be because of him harnessing wild magic.    Truth be told, he was likely a mixture of both, although at this time a sorcerer appearing would have been incredibly rare due to little to no magical exposure. However, of important note, there is a regional tradition that Malum's family was one of the settling families that discovered the incredibly magical Inverted pyramids and that thee residual magic took a few generations to appear.  However, Malum did apply scientific study to magic and was likely attempting to slowly learn of it.    This issue is further exasperated by the fact that records of Malum in life are slim to none, aside from his notebook which was preserved by a cult sect of Sotaria that followed him, and that most traditions featuring him are likely hearsay. Whatever the case, Malum's First and Second spells can be marked as an important turning point in human, and later non-human, evolution and exploration.
