Eastern Islands
The eastern islands are an archipelago of mountainous islands off the east coast of Sanoris. The east side of the Brink is often included as part of the region, since its ecology more closely resembles that of the islands than the mainland.
The isles jut from the ocean as a series of ridges approaching the Brink. The archipelago consists of seven major islands and several hundred minor ones. Three different nations currently rule over the main seven, though the northernmost islands are hotly contested.
Geography
The islands' altitudes range from around 400ft to almost 2000ft above sea level. Uplands make up the majority of the land area; most of the coastlines are abrupt cliffs.
The islands are forested with a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees. These trees are quite hardy, having adapted well to the cold climate, steep altitude, and nutrient-poor soil. The forests help to protect the islands from erosion; areas that have seen extensive deforestation suffer more from rock slides.
Climate
The islands experience four distinct seasons: summer, winter, autumn, and spring. Summer is lukewarm and wet. It occurs during the middle months of the Dawn year. Winter is frigid and dry, and occurs in the middle of the Dusk. Spring and autumn are transitions between winter and summer and summer and winter, respectfully.
Fauna & Flora
Notable flora and fauna of the islands include the island cliffgoat, the <big kitty>, the <pretty tree>, and the Stelettia. Cliffgoats can also be found in the Brink, but those found on the islands are a unique subspecies. Considered even more fearless than their mainland cousins, island cliffgoats can be spotted walking along sheer cliffs, wet from sea-spray, that plummet hundreds of feet into the ocean. The task appears as easy to them as walking on dry land would be for a person.
Stelettias are cultivated by people on the island for the beautiful Luminous pigment that can be made from their bracts. Wild stelettias are rare, but can sometimes be found clinging to inaccessible reaches of the mountains.
Several different species of sea fowl live on the islands. Some are permanent residents, others only stop at the islands periodically during migrations.

I enjoy 'big kitty' and 'pretty tree'. :D Sounds like an interesting place. I love that the islands have unique subspecies of cliffgoat. :D

Haha thank you! Sometimes I just don't have the energy to come up with names for things... and yes, I also like the cliffgoats. They might be getting an article soon.
