Tenets of Faith

Vesha is a goddess of passions and violence, both things that tend to make cults to her short lived. She is often invoked by warriors before battle or those that feel they have been wronged in such a way that the only recourse is murder.

Personal history

Vesha's origin seems tied to the myths of the sea peoples and as is still most strongly worshiped within Krin human communities. During the Age of Myth she is mostly described as the leader of the Eshkariate a group of female warrior deities that punished those who broke oaths, betrayed their lords, and oppressed the helpless. One of the Eshkariate's primary duties seems to have been the punishment of rapists in their victim's stead. This particular aspect of the goddess, while still remaining is much less prominent after her induction into the greater Sanzeian pantheon.

Veshka and Throndar

Veshka often accompanies the war god and while her prowess in battle rivals even Throndar himself, he is often required to calm her berserk rage and love for slaughter.  Given Throndar's reputation as a lover of many, it is telling that only a few fringe tales describe the pair as anything other than platonic. Veshka joined the Sanzeian pantheon after being bested and "tamed" by the wargod.  Though he sources vary, Veshka and the motive unclear, the commonality of tales say that Veshka was once a monsnter rampaging across Sanzeia -- tales vary on her form describing her as a dragon, a bull, a giant, or a demon and the reason for her anger most tellings framing it as revenge that could not be stopped, but some describing her rage as an almost natural occurence. One telling is recounted below:
Veshka, angered that King Snorn had taken her sister* as a bride against her will, rampaged over the land, crushing the cursed kingdom beneath her claws till even the bones of it were dust. But her rage only grew worse and she rampaged over the world. The slaughter grew so great that the war god himself was forced to intervene after she slew 1,000 heroes a day for 1,000 days. Throndar in all his glory appeared and grabbed the beast by its bloody horns.  God and demon fought from when the moons glowed bright until they grew dark again, but neither could best the other. Seeing this, and that no other being had challenged him so, Throndar laid down his weapons and laughed, inviting the great beast to dine with him. He reasoned that if he could not best Veshka in battle he would best her in drink. In that moment the beast laughed too, and she was instantly changed into the fierce but beautiful goddess. The two gods matched each other drink for drink until they both fell asleep, not knowing who had been the victor.  To this day they continue their contest to outdo each other.
-Traditional Krin tale
*neither the kingdom of Snorn, the tales of a king named Snorn, or the name of Veshka's sister have survived to the present day.
