Childhood

Joel Walton - or Joel Trazura as he was originally named - was born and raised in Trakaris. There he was once a full-fledged member of its high-society and was even groomed to be the next successor of his family. But even before his tenth birthday (The age when trakarian nobles are officially established), Joel realized that he doesn't want to be part of the scheeming elite of Trakaris. At the age of eight he was already skillfull in evading his many bodyguards and even managed to leave the Skypillar - an absolute taboo for young nobles. Maybe even more impressive is his unharmed return.
In his time in the lower districts of Trakaris, Joel quickly became a valuable of The Net one of the two biggest criminal organizations in Trakaris. At first he tried to hide his noble heritage and failed miserably but that only made him more valuable to the syndicate. He was never really a field-operative and always more of a spy but nevertheless he learned many things during this time.

Adulthood

At his coming-of-age he also decided to change his relationship with The Net into a more commercial one while renouncing his position as successor of the Trazura family. Instead he founded the merchant company Desert Trades that over the course of the next decade began to rival other existing companies.
During this time he met Camilar Walton who was at first a new clerk in one of his shops. Her intelligence and sense for business quickly began to charm the still young Joel and only a year after their first meeting they were already inseparable. But marrying a commoner was impossible for someone with Joel's background and so the pair hatched a plan to achieve their happiness: Using the resources of Desert Trades, Joels criminal and official connections as well as many briberies, they ensured themselve places in the new caravan to the north. Finally the day came when the caravan began their journey and on this last day Joel and Camilar officially anounced their marriage, denouncing all of Joel's relations with his former family.

Krucifax

The now happy couple managed to survive the hazardous journey to the North Star, being one of the first humans in centuries to arrive there. Together with their comrades and many friends they made along the journey, they began to build Krucifax on the ruins of an ancient village, quickly becoming pillars of the community. It came to no surprise that Joel was elected to be the first Major of Krucifax and his wife did not become part of the Krucifax Council only because she strongly refused it.
