The Council Manor

Location

Sitting on a hill northeast of the marketplace, it is overlooking the inner district of Abercast. The old manor rises over most of the remaining cityscape. This building is visible from most of the city and when public meetings are held within the confines of the manor a bright white, black and red flag sways in the wind.

Interior

While the stone exterior has seen better days, the interior has been kept well and it within these walls important are held. As many meetings are held here the first floor has been made to allow for larger gatherings, and the setup for a round table to discuss matters of importance. From the first floor, a large staircase leads to the second, third and fourth floors. The second-floor houses important legal documents, and laws and is home to a single judiciary of Abercast. Continuing to the third floor, the floor plan has significantly decreased and it is divided into smaller sections one that houses a private meeting room and space for one of three council members. The other section houses the other two council members. The fourth and last floor houses a partly teleportation circle, but it has been in disarray for a long time.

History

As the construction of the city continued Magura wanted a beautiful home for himself and his soon-to-be-arriving family. The construction of a minor palace was set in place. Beautifully carved stones taken from a quarry in The Burning Rise. As this home rose atop a hill overlooking the city the formality increased and as time went on it slowly developed into a place of power.   Until the days of The Arcane Plague, the manor stood as a monument to attest to the strength of this trading city-state. But with the abandonment of Abercast, it was left to its own device until the reconquering of Abercast. As the original place of power, it was a natural place to reinstate a governing organ.
