Evon's

Evon's Inn has always been the place to go in Safe Haven for good home-cooked meals and a clean comfortable bed for a weary traveler.  It is centrally located in the Market Square, across from both the Town Hall with the Judge's courts and the Library and School of Learning.     At end week, you can usually find the City Councilors relaxing at Evon's after the weekly council meetings.  Steryn Kelin, a former elven mercenary, watches from his place by the bar to make sure everything runs smoothly.  From the kitchen comes the sounds of Evon and Lily, one of their adopted daughters, bantering back and forth good naturedly about the food they are making. Upstairs, Chryssie, another daughter, has done the finishing touches on the guest rooms of the Inn.     As a new patron walks in and takes a seat, Derna, the newest addition to the staff and daughters, places a tankard of Steryn's best ale in front of them with a smile in greeting. She then wanders over to the table where Prince Nairys is sitting discussing the latest city renovation plans with Tersa the Mayor, seeing if they need anything.   The patron notices how clean and well maintained everything is. The smells from the kitchen are both enticing and bewitching making one eager to find out if the food tastes as good as it smells.  Suddenly there is a commotion from the kitchen as several children run off giggling holding securely the sweet pastries they skillfully filched that were cooling on a counter in the kitchen.  The other patrons roar in laughter as the children run out the door with their bounty.   A half elven bard stands up from the table she was at and takes her place on a small stage singing old ballads and martial tunes for the enjoyment of the crowd.  Another couple enter the room hand in hand, and slowly wander to a table off in the corner.  Steryn chuckles, as he sees them, and hands Derna a tray of drinks for the couple, who are playing truant from their royal duties.   Everyone comes to Evon's.
