Sometimes the best-laid plans go awry. Sometimes the greatest victories are really a stunning defeat. Sometimes those realizations prove crushing and slacken the sails of even the most idealistic—which can lead to surrender.

Sometimes a crippling defeat creates circumstances for victory that were never possible before. How can you know?

You can’t. Hope for something better while enduring hardship is the only goal strong enough to pull you through. Whether that hope is in the form of divine salvation or personal triumph…

"Never forget. There is always hope."

What is the Saga of the Silver Blade?

The Saga is a massive chronicle tracing the relentless continuation of an ancient cosmic war, fought not by divine armies, but by mortals and unseen agents across succeeding generations. This isn't just fantasy; it is a Dark, Artpunk, High Fantasy Espionage Thriller. At its core is a sentient artifact that guides its chosen bearers through a world fractured by the deepest betrayal. It is the story of mortals finding their place in an unending, brutal conflict they were never meant to inherit.

Watch as the Saga of the Silver Blade unfurls.

Why makes the Saga a unique fantasy flavor?

Existence itself is a cosmic Symphony, known poetically as the Eternal Song, or Grand Composition. Power flows not from rote memorization, but from inner Passion and an innate connection to universal Movements. This makes artistry and self-discovery the ultimate weapons. The struggle is layered with profound moral complexities, tracing the evolution of corruption through powerful, hidden figures and showing how individual trauma can be tragically weaponized against entire lineages.

Discover the passionate heart of the Eternal Song.

How can I learn more about the setting?

You must become a Seeker and peer past the official history, which is a strategic fiction designed to hide the most dangerous truths. Explore the diverse, fractured politics of the Five Seas and the strange customs of peoples like the long-lived shandaryn and the enigmatic klash-kal. Uncover the real purpose of monumental sites—from the ominous Black Hammer Mountains to the pivotal Lockstone—which are not merely geographical features but metaphysical anchors in a war that transcends the physical world.

Uncover the vast geopolitical landscape, ancient histories, and diverse peoples that make up Aithyris, the world behind the Saga of the Silver Blade, starting with the Peoples of Aithyris.

The Enduring Goal

The Saga of the Silver Blade aims to confront the reader with the necessity of critical thought. This Chronicle is a deep dive into consequences, showing the catastrophic failures that happen when beings—mortal or divine—forget how to think and revert to seeing the world in simple black and white terms. It challenges the reader to look past surface morality and embrace complexity, arguing that true strength lies in resilience and the choice to forge hope from trauma and deception, proving that a nuanced, moral life is the only worthwhile fight against the crushing weight of the inevitable.

Housekeeping

A quick note on RPGs: While this setting does not have rules associated with a specific game's mechanic, any enterprising game master is welcome to use or pilfer from the setting of the Saga of the Silver Blade for their use in their own campaign. I did it plenty myself. I am paying it forward. If you do, and there was something that worked or you liked, I'd love to hear about it. It just feels good to know my work is making others feel good too.

Important Safety Tip: This site is filled with years of detritus from early attempts at what I've begun. It remains possible that one might happen upon some space which contains incomplete notes and may not even be accurate anymore. Also, I currently plan (if I don't get too lazy about it) to pre-insert links to future articles and intend to make them bold on the page so that you may know a page is planned, but not yet public. Think of them as seed which have yet to germinate.

Additionally, I am making an effort to ensure I have spoiler-free articles, with any spoiler information I decide to include safely hidden behind a clearly marked button so that you may choose your own level of mystery. At some point, I hope to build a membership, with which I intend to include more and deeper information about the setting, characters, and the story of the story.
