Old Mountain Language, original name unknown
I have managed to glean very little of this language as it has no written form, the few native speakers still living often refuse to speak to outsiders so I was very lucky to be able to learn even this much.
Writing System
This language has no real writing system, unfortunately. Attempts have been made to create some method of recording the language but as of the moment there is no universally accepted way of writing the sounds and signs that make up this language.
Geographical Distribution
This language is mainly used by the people who live in the Northern Mountain Range , the lack of spoken words in the language was historically useful in this environment where loud noises can cause avalanches.
Phonetics
Loud Words
Snapping the fingers on one hand
Clicking tongue
Tapping fingers
Sentence Structure
Sentences usually begin with a "loud" word to gain attention then formation becomes a bit more complicated as a combination of sounds and signs can be used simultaneously to convey many different meanings.
Referring to different people can be done in different "zones" in front of the speaker to indicate the descriptions or story telling. This can be quite simple when referring to a small group of people but referring to more than three individuals in a single conversation can get more complicated.
Legacy
The language is mainly spoken by the older members of their society, but there is a resurgence among the younger population following the peace at the end of the Long Wars.
Many of the old common phrases are still used but have taken on slightly new meanings as they are used alongside multiple spoken languages for emphasis.
