Higher Order

My brother considered this profession for a time, but he eventually decided against because he found the preliminary work tedious.

Career

Qualifications

They have to train for seven years at Hill College, and then spend a seven years serving communities across the country before they can be sent off on their own.

Payment & Reimbursement

They are paid through housing and being fed in their local area but not with money. The respect they have means that they have to pay for very little as most people are willing to offer work by favour instead.

Other Benefits

They are revered in their local communities and the profession is an important one for guarding the soul of our great country. (That last phrase is their favourite, they'd complain if I didn't include it here no matter how pretentious it sounds.)

Perception

Purpose

They lead their area in worship and help their community in times of spiritual crises.

Social Status

This is a highly sought after profession, mostly because it is one of the few professions that is exempt from military service.

The recruitment process makes the role more difficult to join as it requires the recommendation of the local church in order to be considered for the training at Hill College.

Operations

Workplace

They do their work in the church buildings and in their community. They go where they are needed to tend to the soul of their community, whether in a special building or helping in the fields.

Provided Services

They lead their communities in worship in many ways. They mark transitions of the phases of life and new beginnings with their services, give hope for the future and comfort in times of turmoil.
