Marshes of Epsani
The Marshes of Epsani are a coastal marshland stretching from north to south against a mountain range.
Geography
The marshes, characterized by vegetation adapted to wet soil conditions, holds few trees or wooded plant-life. Along the coast lies the salty marshes, with tides that bring in salty to the east side. The warm ocean current along with the tides bring in organic matter and nutrients from the sea, allowing creating a very productive ecosystem. Further inland lies fresh-water marshes, fed from the rain-capturing mountains and anual monsoons. Even further inland the climate and terrain change into forested mountains. The area west of the Ksai River's estuary holds a wider variety of plant life as a fresh-water marsh. Following the river further inland grows the Ksai Swamp, a flooded area fed by the river of the same name.
Climate
Year-round the climate of the marshes are consistently humid, temperatures varying by only 10°C. Half the year monsoons inundate the area, causing flooding and more freshwater flow, while the other half has much less percipitation.
