Disarmament
In the poisoned rain of a magiological thunderstorm stands Disarmament, home of the Warforged. Once the pinnacle of humans military technology, these metal soldiers, golems, and armors stood at attention inside the bombed-out ruins of warehouses and factories for over a century after their human controllers burned to ash. Then one day as the magic-laced winds whipped at their shells and corroded their plates, they woke up. It didn't take them long to discover what had happened to the world that had created them. Knowledge of such magics was preserved inside their memory banks; only now that consciousness has sparked within them, could they comprehend the horror of it all. The Warforged wandered the land seeking a place unruined by their creators. Many lives were lost beneath magiologic meteor storms, corrosive rains, razor winds, or crushing glaciers. Curiously, the corpse dust that blows across the surface of Rockfall didn’t seem to target the Warforged. Perhaps the twisted souls of the former humans that possess the dust still viewed the humanmade constructs as brothers-in-arms against some foreign enemy. Slowly their kind gathered in the ruins of a human city in the north, and they began to build. They named their city Disarmament, for no Warforged would serve as a weapon for mankind any longer, nor would any Warforged war amongst themselves. Warforged would fight only in self-defense, or for the preservation of their lonely haven.
The city of Disarmament itself is built out of the ruins of a human city. The Warforged actively dismantle the human structures and weapons of war and use them to build their shining steel and glass towers. The core philosophy shared by all Warforged is to convert the old ways of war into the new ways of peace. The city itself is powered by the lightning strikes launched at the city by the malevolent cloud that hangs in the skies above. Lightning rods dot the skyscrapers, protecting the city below, and converting the violent legacy of the humans into a productive source of energy.
