Danny Gorgon

Danny Gorgon (a.k.a. The Double Visioned)

Danny is the daughter of a fallen hero who wants to follow in his footsteps.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Danny is of moderate height and would look harmless if it weren't for her weapons and armor.

Body Features

Danny has little experience in combat, resulting in her getting herself nicked in the midst of combat and leaving wide scars across her arms and cheek.

Facial Features

When looking at Danny's face, it's unclear exactly what age she is. The wrinkles under her eyes could mean she's reached her elder years, but the rest of her soft face could trick someone into thinking she's in her mid-20s.

Identifying Characteristics

Her long Silver hair can be a bit of a sore thumb in the crowd. It's not every day you see an old woman wearing a warrior's gear.

Physical quirks

Though in her late teens, Danny has several wrinkles and grayed hair, ultimately making her appear to be aging faster than a normal human.

Special abilities

Because of over-exposure to the realm of the dead, she can occasionally summon its power when she needs it.

Apparel & Accessories

While outside of safety, Danny wears a part leather - part steel armor with her homemade shield and a long sword she stole from a barbarian corpse. Her most notable item is a silver necklace with a ruby eye that hangs over her heart.

Specialized Equipment

Danny has martial skills taught by a ghostly warrior.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

As the daughter of a great hero, Danny wanted to join the City Watch of her home and help defend it. During her entry exams, her father died. The grief had caused her to lose focus on her training and ended up failing the exam. Once this happened, she had lost hope. She tried to run away into the nearby forest until she found a silver necklace with a haunting red ruby at its end. When she put it on, the spirit of a warrior revealed itself to her and felt for her loss. Danny and the spirit began to train together (unofficial training is illegal where she comes from). When a barbarian raid hit her home, Danny couldn't help herself and ran into action. She took the sword of an already dead invader and fought them off to the edge of her life. The City Watch looked past her brave actions and after the battle ended, immediately tried to arrest her. The townsfolk were on the other hand thankful and had convinced the Watch to not execute Danny, but to put her into exile. Since then Danny has been trying to help the struggling in the hope that she can make her father proud.

Education

Danny has standard education of the world, such as the nearby governments and laws of the universe. She was very limited while training with the City Watch, and didn't learn the mastery of fighting until the spirit taught her.

Employment

Danny has never had an official career but has been hired for various jobs throughout her exile.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Her time to shine really was the barbarian raid. Since then she has helped others but nothing astonishing enough for bards to sing her stories.

Failures & Embarrassments

Danny was devastated when she failed the City Watch exam (hence why she tried to run away). Since then she has been thankful that she wasn't excepted into their harsh ranks, but the occasional flashback still stings.

Mental Trauma

The loss of her father has left her with a weak spot in her usual determined and passionate personality, becoming filled with rage when it's touched on. Occasionally when a great supernatural force is nearby, the spirit in the necklace's possession becomes greater leading to Danny's overall personality becoming unstable.

Morality & Philosophy

As much as Danny likes to solve issues diplomatically, she does tend to jump the gun every once in a while in anticipation.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Danny wants to become a great hero and follow in her father's footsteps, as well as find out what exactly had killed him and avenge him.

Likes & Dislikes

Likes: Afternoon naps, cleaning her equipment, chatting with strangers, exotic foods Dislikes: Long travels, boats, senseless crimes

Virtues & Personality perks

Danny tries her best to maintain a can-do attitude. Always looking for hope in the worst of situations.

Vices & Personality flaws

Insults toward her father make her lash out. She also has a crippling fear of fish. Legacy. Danny wants to follow in her father's footsteps but fears that she'll end up like him.

Personality Quirks

Foul language bugs Danny so she tries to avoid using it herself to set an example. When she gets bored she tends to pick dirt and grime off her clothes.

Hygiene

Though she's fine with getting messy, Danny tries to maintain a good appearance as not many people want to hear about a flee-ridden warrior getting drenched in her enemy's blood.

I was born 8/19/523 to a kind mother and an adventuring father. I didn't get to see him much as a kid but the stories he'd tell whenever he visited inspired me to become just like him.

Danny has a great fascination with the Fey and has learned the language of Sylvan to read their untranslated tales. Any other language (excluding common) she understands because of the spirit's knowledge of them.

Research

After leaving the cultist hideout, I began to spend the next couple of days researching various topics like General E and the cultists that took Sylvie. I learned a couple of new things about our stone-faced friend such as the fact that he may be a construct, which would mean someone else is commanding him. Great. I've hired a spy (who I'll be calling "One") to keep tabs on the guards and to meet me in the town square if he finds anything. Talking about new allies, a woman named Kit Blackmold who is a mage found my interest in General E... interesting. She asked me why I was trying to learn more about him and even gave me some information about his powers. Now that I'm thinking about it, how does she know about stone-face's power? Why is she afraid of him? Why is her tongue black? Too many questions in my opinion.   I also started my investigation on where Sylvie was taken to, asking the help of Josephine who came back to me with a strange potion and a vision of an apocalyptic Oasis forty years ago. Joey, Ham, and I split up to investigate any temples that may have taken Sylvie or knows about the position. When we reconvened, I told the others my theory on the Scripture. If someone rewrites something in there, they change the history of the desert, and I believe that something already changed, and whatever lived in that apocalyptic Oasis wants to return home. I have little evidence of this exact theory but it's something. The three of us split up, Ham going to a library to research any major religious events that happened in the year five-hundred, Joey going to talk to the cultists that we helped clear the names of for more information on cults, and I will be staying behind to keep an eye on little buddy, just to make sure no one is after him from his misadventures which caused him to be covered in blood (that didn't belong to him). I should keep a closer eye on him...

We FINALLY made it to the cultist hideout and we found some prisoners... including LB and Joey. So it's safe to say we're not gonna let that happen again. Anyway, we also found a cultist chained up scarred to say traitor, and an incredibly dehydrated individual who we rescued. LB and I found two tapestries, one with commandments and the other with what seemed to be a warning. After LB and I played dice, we discovered a false wall leading to a strange doorway. With some investigation with Partner, we used the warning tapestry to solve the puzzle and be teleported into the final chamber. We wrecked some cultists riding centipedes, an overall enjoyable experience. OH CRAP, WE GOTTA SAVE SILVY.

The Sewers
5/4/540

I woke up to find Joey and Little Buddy to be gone, going somewhere "important" and I trust her with him so I don't really mind. It was just me and Ham who went to investigate the crime scene later. We managed to find blood and animal tracks which we followed into a moss-covered sewer and discovered a shelter hidden beneath one of the tunnels. We try to investigate further but don't find anything short of a crude drawing of pornography.   While we continued to follow the tracks we eventually made it to our targets: a demonic guy, a small fox girl, a tall elf, the ice witch we met yesterday, and an Aasimar. Because we don't trust General E, we agreed to help them clear their crimes with the government by defeating a group of cultists (a task which was given to them by another general).   After a while of searching the tunnels and shoving sewer excrement into Silvie's nose, poor thing, we found two Excelsis priests chanting something in an unknown language. They give us information about where the cult is but tried to drag Silvie away from us. After a lot of arguing against them, we begrudgingly let Silvie go through with whatever they wanted to do. This was a bad idea. Silvie just vanished. Ham and I dropped one of the priests to the ground while the others killed the one responsible. We tried to get information out of him but it seemed like even he didn't know.   Whatever happened, they said they were going to "fix Silvie's mind." I highly doubt that's a good thing so once I help clear Silvie and the other's names I'm going to look for her and kick as much ass as necessary to help her.

It Got Worse
5/3/540

Though I'm not a fan of the enforcers of the law, I was showing little buddy their actions to teach him that helping people is important. Afterward, we watched an Ice Witch use some magic, this somehow ended in disaster. After our encounter, I saw a guard fall asleep as the Ice Witch walked away from him. Other guards went to arrest her, and when I tried to intervene believing her to be innocent, I FELL ASLEEP. When I woke up smelling what I can only assume is the demons who sleep in their own filth in the bottom-most depths of hell, little buddy and I were being arrested!   Obviously, we booked it the second we got the chance (thanks Ice Witch). It took some deception to finally get away from them, including me accidentally getting an innocent person beat up (sorry). She ended up being Josephine, who doesn't seem that bad, maybe a little bit too much of a fanatic but it's not my place to change how people worship. Also, Ham showed up with the clutch by picking up little buddy while I was playing the hurt old woman bit. In thanks, I took the two to lunch.   After I had the world's worst piece of lamb, the law caught up to us. All of us were arrested and thrown into a pit for 20 minutes, I hope dad wasn't watching that part. After which we met up with "General E" (not his real name). He says he'll pay us by A. not arresting us, and B. paying us if we take in out the misfits we met in the town square. We really don't have a choice, and I fear what would happen if I rejected the "Will of Excelsis" in front of Joey.
