Sapphire Bread

-once the dough has risen, work it down into a tight ball on a heavily flowered surface, and then cut it into even sections.

Either placed in a pan, or on a cookstone, this recipe should yield about six loaves at a time. While the loaves are still hot, sprinkle with salt or sugar depending on taste.

For storage, place in a dry, sealed container for longevity, or double the cook time to remove all moisture, resulting in a dense brick that will last even when left in open air, necessitating only a method of keeping pests away.
— On Frontier Cooking, by Sonia Garthas

In farming communities and on the frontier, since the rise and fall of Camlann, one of the most common crops has been Sapphire Wheat which is prized for it's heariness, flavor, and rapid maturation. It was a staple crop of the empire of King Gowyr, and thus more poplar where the Empire was active the longest. That being said, it is found in some form most everywhere in the world at this point.

On nearly every table with access to the cerulean plants, you will also find a bread product of some sort. Either a loaf of bread, sure, or a more pastry-like form, or the many other ways that one can cook bread. Regardless, it is common to see sky blue breads (though they can be darker or lighter) upon every table across all of Avallus in one form or the other.

Out of the dozens, if not hundreds of stories within Accolades of the High Table, one can count that nearly half of them feature a description or comment towards Sapphire wheat or bread.
