Wool
Wool is a textile fibre that is harvested from animals that have a woollen coat. These natural hair fibres can grow from a moderate to long length and be harvested regularly to use as a basic material to make textiles, clothes and many other things. Sheep are by far the most common animal which is harvested for its wool (though some goat and cow species also provide wool) and are present across Tuono's Corpse.
The value of wool is highly dependant on its quality, whether it be coarse or fine, long or short. A Sack (unit of measurement) of wool will vary in price largely in keeping with the region of origin, ranging from prices of 3 Kupar for a sack of low-quality coarse wool to 16 for the finest. A sack equates to roughly 150kg of wool. In the Grand Duchy of Canyndor, a set of laws known as the 'Inari Standards' after the royal clerk who devised them, sets out the maximum prices that can be charged for a sack of finest quality wool in each surcounty. The price-caps allow the surcounties of Randleton, Kilncross and Manttila being allowed to charge the maximum of 16 Kupar per sack for the finest quality wool. The surcounties of Sjolund, Siltala and Rydant being able to charge 14 Kupar per sack. The surcounties of Ilkweir, Pilkala, Canyndor, Eidehn and Anttula being allowed to charge 10 Kupar per sack. Finally, the surcounties of Ashcastle and Ingus being able to charge 8 Kupar per sack. While some of these regional caps do relate to the quality of the wool in that geographical location, however, the lower caps seen in middle Doria can largely be attributed to aiding the weaving industry and encouraging alternative land use as seen in Ingus and Ashcastle.
