Cedorian Citadel
The Cedorian Citadel is a great fortress that lies on the south-western edge of the city of Brondholm in the Kingdom of Durabryn. The Citadel takes its name from its founder, Cedor, who is famous as one of the brother founders of Brondholm and the kingdom of Durabryn as a consequence. The citadel lies upon a natural hillside, a gradual gradient from the eastern side where the city lay, and a great cliff edge on the side that faces further into the western provinces of Durabryn. There are four ring walls that encompass the citadel, each taller and thicker than the last. The first two are of a purely defensive nature and contain little more than bastions from which to repel the enemy. The final two comprise of towers and thick wall which contain many rooms from which defenders may fire at attackers, even building built into the wall make the citadel somewhat of a city within a city.
At the Apex of the citadel is the grand palace of the Kings of Durabryn. A lavish complex of apartments, chambers and halls that rival any display of wealth that has ever been or likely to be. It is such a rare honour to gain access to the inner chambers of the palace that it is believed that only the King himself, his family and a small number of his most trusted servants and vassals have ever seen within them, Kings generally opting to conduct much of their business within the more accommodating halls of the cities Ambassador Halls.
