House Tellarre
Those smart bastards got it cushty, the oldest house they call themselves. True but don't mean they know the value of hard graft, they wander in steal a few books and then pow dragon smacks them in the face with a bag of dough. Of they'll moan and spit about how they are 'artists' stealing the very best of a world's genius, that just means they know how to organise a proper piss up! The fact is they're only powerful because they got powerful friends. The Dragon likes em, heard it values they're consistency, or some such. What fucking Corsair want's to be 'consistent' sounds like how you'd describe an accountant. The Druids chat to em as well, they seem to get along, something weird going on there in my mind, druids wouldn't piss on any of us if we were on fire, haughty bastards. Worst of all, there's Caspi. You know that a full third of those 'great minds' that formed Caspi were part of Tellares crews? They gloss over that quick but Caspi it aint forgot. Any time we got in a spitting match with Caspi it's the Tellares we roll out to handle it. Give far too much away in my mind to those damp fucks. They are just hangers on, an old family that is full of gold they can't be moved. That and the curses, too many fucking wizards in their ranks. You know I heard that they're old Dragon Mages, some of those musty fucks survived did some magic to hide and then came out when it'd all blown over. Think on that, they aint all that they just got roots. Vaerek - First Mate of The Grey Bull, Crew of House Crozin
Structure
The house is led by the Corsair King and Queen. Unlike other houses, it's traditional for a couple to share this title and their have been pairs of Kings and Queens ruling throughout the history of the House.
Beneath them are lesser Corsair Houses, these houses are specialists in particular methods of raiding, unlike the other families, this group is almost totally static, with houses falling in and out very rarely. The most notable are the House Seductor (who convince great geniuses and institutions to come to Reef), House Clob (those who collect knowledge from nomadic or purely spoken words cultures), House Fren (who are experts in unearthing and searching ancient ruins of past civilizations for knowledge)
Culture
House Tellare is a centuries-old institution and values above all else its reputation for consistency. The people of its house focus on projecting a refined and civilized nature. Seeking to be trusted and seen as delivering on their deals. They are often used as brokers of information, power, and offer arbitration to other houses. This means that their members are expected to be above petty squabbles.
Speaking of squabbles, the House brooks no infighting, its leadership is entirely made up of mages and the most powerful mages choose who rules the house. The competitions are not usually of combat, but instead of control and knowledge of the arcane. As a mini-magocracy, the house prides itself on magical education, and nearly all members have some magical skill. This is also how the house retains its power, while other houses have mages none can compete with the House Tellare's magical supremacy, many houses when they need complex magical support rent the services of the House.
House Tellare also cultivates relationships outside of Rasht, most notable is the long history with the Dragon Ink Library which was core to its foundation and remains a key source of income. As they were collaborators from the beginning they see themselves as part of Reef as a whole in a way that few other Houses can match. As such they focus on an identity outside of being Corsairs and to many of Rasht this is seen as something of a betrayal of values.
Public Agenda
Tellarre is very open about wanting to keep Rasht on its new straight and narrow with The Seer Senate. They are an anchor on the other corsairs often the level head in the room.
Tellarre's mandate spoken by its King and Queen is to continue to collect knowledge and magical resources for the benefit of Rasht and Reef.
Assets
House Tellare has an extensive magical complex in Rasht. This compound is vast and complemented by extradimensional spaces. The wealth of the House is stored deep in these magical vaults, the true extent is totally unknown.
History
The House was one of the first corsair groups to appear after the fall of the Dragon Mage Empire. Originally a collection of powerful wizards and witches which legend tells were fleeing a magephobic society the house set up shop on Reef. Acting as more of a cult they built their small empire up, working occasionally with the other early corsairs. They truly found themselves though when the Dragon commissioned them to retrieve books for the library. This contract and flow of money has allowed them to build the foundation of their private empire.
The house has survived two schisms over the centuries, one where its King became a Lich, and another where a collection of powerful mages from other houses came to challenge its supremacy. In both cases, the House survived through its connection to others. In the first case, they used their long-standing affiliation and support of The Skull Burners and in the other they pulled on the strength of the dragon. In both scenarios the family feels they lost a great deal of face and considered themselves indebted to both powers as a result.
