S3E17 - Loose Lips and Wing Flips

We go back in time Terri talking to the Dr. Fung, the professor. The professor is unsure of the situation and growth, and doesn't really want to give Terry the answers that he does or doesn't have.
Since Terry can't get answers from the professor, he delves deeper into himself and the connection to the mycelium. His fungus has an intention. A desire to grow and develop within Terri. [person] is the source of his powers.
The professor drugs Terry, saying that his family was threatened. .

Present: Date: 2nd of Seleszeni 1076 ZC
The Gala is on the 6th. The Harvest Festival is on the 4th.

 

Pivot to dinner with Dream, Theo, and Penelope (the Duke's mom).

Theo is acting as Dream's security, which means Penelope doesn't regard her much. Dream puts on a whole act that she is delighted to be getting to know her mother in law. She weaves a whole story about their love, how "Donny" has changed, and why he wants to reconnect with his family.
Dream asks Penelope about the conflict in the Badlands, and who the political players currently are. Penelope sees the people of the [place] as barbaric and savage. Their presence was manageable until recently, and the Boros are earning their keep as of late. They were paid for by the Norov, who is finally getting their investment back. In the last few weeks, there have been outbreaks of violence and buildigns that were damaged. There was an explosion in Knaria near the border of Azberia. Now there's unrest in Knaria. Judge Kavin has been cracking down. He is ambitious and was used to be more sympathetic to the guildless when he was younger. With age, he cracked down on them to get further in his career. She predicts that he is doing this to prepare for the next election cycle. He does a lot of public speaking about the issue, which she is surprised by, as it's usually kept more under wraps. He's fear mongering.
She knows that Garrok Badar was a lieutenant from the 10th district Rakdos.
Dream asks if Penelope if she can conenct them to Judge Kavin, as it could help with a lead. Penelope says that it's unlikely, since Donovan III stopped sending his letters. She offers to reach out to his wife.
Detect Thoughts: The letters are to @Cassandra Lightgale[person], the Duke's ex-betrothed. He was pretending to be the Duke. He only stopped after she marreid someone else. Cassandra thinks that the Duke left because he was in trouble and had to escape from. That he left because he was saving her, and that he still loves her. That he only stopped writing to respect her new marriage. Penelope also says that Cassandra's husband Steven Ravenhold is a nasty man, and that Penelope is likely unhappy. They're in banking and real estate. It was a marriage for status. The Lightgale family was having financial issues before the marriage. The Lightgale Manor is only that in name, although it's owned by her husband's family, and there's no one left with the Lightgale name.
At the end of the dinner, Dream get's a little louder (in an effort to start a whisper campaign), saying that she looks forward to dining with her father in law in the future.

 

Pivot back to Terri

@Kraterellin[person] awakes tied to a moving object and notices that paralyzing spores are all around. However, his fungus is preventing the paralysis. He senses another humanoid near him, and they're on the back of a flying creature. He breaks loose, and sees that he's on a flying beast with fungus all over it's skin. The person flying the creature matches the cultists in @Miraxos[place]. He rolls off and uses his fungus to fly for the last bit of his fall. He lands in the wild expanse of the @Rubble Belt[place]. After hiding through the night, he sends an animal messenger to the hideout. Wojeks will come to his rescue and fly him to the 3rd district to meet up with the party.

 

Time skip to him arriving in the 3rd District

Terry is directed to the inn by the locals, who the party made friends with. He arrives to find the Duke and Androz. When Theo and Dream arrive back at the inn after dinner, Terry is already there. Dream gives him a big ol' hug. He lore dumps to fill us in. Androz lore dumps his history.

Planning talks begin. We fill in the info we got from dinner.
The Duke wants to go pay his respects to Cassandra about her father's death. Androz can get in because of Saraphina. He and Dream can talk to Kavin about Garrok. Terri, Montague, and Theo could sneak in.

  Montague Montague sneaks in. He steals the artifact from Theo, but then it reappears on her belt. She returns it to him after he admits defeat. He tells us about a key that could help get through the wards of the tomb under the mausoleum. It's likely a family heirloom that has been passed down. The Duke thinks it's an old brooch that's been passed down for generations over thousands of years.

The Duke and Dream write a super rizzed out love letter to Cassandra.

Next day, Theo and Dream do their mind training. Terri and the Duke start training on a similar vein.
Androz heads back to the Boros camp to check in with Saraphina about his invite to the ball.

  Theo scopes out the square where Kavin will perform his speech. She notices a cloaked firbolg that seems to be doing the same thing. She tells him in thieves cant where the best sniper shot would be from. He spooks and runs away. She shadow steps in front of him and says that she has traveled a long way to help Garrok. He says, "We praise the one to free us from the chains of the guilds. Call him by his name." She rolls her eyes, repeats her tip about location, and then goes incorporeal to fade away. She tells Androz about her recommendations for security, so that he can warn the Boros. Although she wants the party stationed at the building she recommended so that the can be the ones to stop the assassination.

Androz talks to Commander Saraphina back at the Boros camp. Kavin will admit him into the ball, but he doesn't know who Androz is looking for. He tells her about Theo's report and she is grateful. She offers to introduce Androz to the Arbiter tomorrow at the festival.

  Dream and Montague discuss the wards and everything she knows.

Next sesh: Theo looks for coke. Androz tries to make money. Terri tests his fungus.
