Vascan

Vascan are a 'supernatural' race. While not considered 'cursed' in the sense of a Mock Vampire or Lyrian, they are of similar nature and are generally lumped together with them. They are sometimes referred to as the Bloody Selenians for the similar nature of their abilities. Unlike other races considered cursed, Vascans are unaffected by the sunlight.   Vascan also have horns; though the exact style of horn varies from family to family.  

Strengths

Vascans are traditionally stronger physically than humans. Their chemistry is similar to other humanoids and their physical capabilities are magnified like a Vampire's. They grow in power by feeding on other 'cursed' races specifically. Their healing factor is considerable as is their durability.   A Vascan's true power lies in their blood. A member of this race is capable of manipulating their own blood and turning it into different shapes in the same way that a Selenian can with their shadow. This enables them to create limbs, weapons, and heal rapidly.   The blood structure is weaved. Traditionally a Vascan must cut themselves in order to summon the blood forth.   As with Selenians, their power is limited only by their imagination. They can both harden their blood and retain it as a liquid. They can also 'drink' blood like a Vampire and add it to their stock temporarily.  

Weaknesses

Vascan have no significant weaknesses. Their durability and physical strength is a constant. Their blood manipulation however has limits.   Blood controlled by the Vascan MUST remain connected to their bodies at all times. Once blood has disjointed from their person it can no longer be controlled, even if they should come into contact with it after the fact. Their blood is also limited to what is within their own bodies; though as mentioned they can 'steal' and add blood to their stockpile.  

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

Vascan can not pass on their abilities to others like typical 'cursed' races. They can not bite, they can not share, they can not turn. A Vascan is born and can not be created.   They also can not reproduce with non-Vascan typically. Like Selenians, while half-breed can be born sometimes they seldom make it to adulthood.  

Growth Rate & Stages

Vascan grow at half the rate of a human; though most do not live above a hundred due to their blood network becoming more frail. By one hundred and twenty a Vascan will typically lose the ability to manipulate their blood.  

Dietary Needs and Habits

Vascan can eat most foods; though their bodies require a high protein diet of red-meat in order to control their blood. They can sustain themselves on non-protein but they can not do so for prolonged periods. All forms of red-meat are acceptable.   In order to grow stronger a Vascan must consume the flesh of a 'cursed' race. The reason for this is unknown. This is not the only way for them to grow in power but it is the fastest, just as blood consumption is the fastest for Mock Vampires.
