Paths to Power on Marus

Overview

What is a Path to Power? On Marus, it is far more than a mere title; a Path is the core of a Gifted's calling. It is what drives them ever forward through the trials and tribulations of the Relic Arts and the world at large. Their Path is an ever-evolving reflection of their melded ambitions, connections, history, and power. Though two Gifted may walk the same Path, no two will ever be truly identical. A Gifted's Path is the sum total of all that they are and all that they ever could be under the watch of Caydon Rel and The Banded Circle. The God of Magic has but one demand of those who live in his Realm: Advance ... Improve Yourself ... Claw Your Way To The Pinnacle!

To you, my Gifted, I have given limitless opportunity. To you, blessed children of Marus, I break free your chains and cast off the yoke of oppression. Hear your God of Magic speak, heed the demand of the Patron of the Magical...
ADVANCE... IMPROVE YOUSELF... CLAW YOUR WAY TO THE PINNACLE!

Path Names

The origin of Path Names is a mystery, but many Gifted believe they are the work of Rel himself. Rumors would have it that a grand study sits in the highest levels of the Spire Relactus with book-laden shelves detailing the names and Paths of every Gifted who ever lived on Marus.

The Banded Circle

Agents of the Circle, aboard their flying ring-like ships, are the direct hand of Caydon Rel. They hunt down powerful Natural Treasures, recover dangerous Relics, and eliminate Gifted practicing forbidden Paths to Power. They are the boogeymen used to frighten children and the real threat used to discourage deplorable Paths.
