Port Calim
Village History: Port Calim was founded several generations ago by a group of fishermen seeking shelter from the turbulent seas. Over time, it grew into a thriving fishing community, known for its resilient and tight-knit population. Despite facing occasional threats from pirates and sea monsters, the villagers have always managed to persevere, thanks in part to the assistance of brave adventurers who frequently pass through.
- Seabreeze Haven is renowned for its abundant seafood, particularly its succulent lobsters and prized deep-sea fish. The villagers also harvest pearls from the nearby oyster beds, which are highly sought after by traders and jewelers across the realm.
- Basic Description: Nestled along the rugged coastline, Port Calim is a picturesque village characterized by its colorful fishing boats bobbing in the harbor and quaint, thatched-roof cottages lining the shore. The salty scent of the sea mingles with the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting from the local bakery. Seagulls cry overhead as fishermen mend their nets and children play in the sandy coves.
- City Leader (Magistrate): Marina Saltwater, a wise and respected elder who has guided the village through many storms.
- Army Leader (Sergeant): Sergeant Finn Harpoon, a grizzled veteran who oversees the village's small militia. Well respected, but more expireinced with minor threats and bar fights than responding to crisis. Lost his leg to a sea shark a number of years ago.
- Brigader Lieutenet- in charge of a nearby brigader outpost, Lieutenet Davis is a zelous individual apointed to a minor backwater, looking to prove himself to be promoted to a more exiting location.
- Rebel leader- Barlon Meek, a jovial and optimistic individual who can see and speak with the dead. Usually a romaing asset, he has been asked to stay in the town to help prepare it for their upcoming missions.
- Pirate Raiders ; Rumors swirl of a notorious pirate crew lurking in the nearby coves, preying on passing ships. The magistrate seeks brave adventurers to drive them off and recover stolen treasures.
- Terror of the Deep Fishermen have reported sightings of a large sea creature or creatures terrorizing their nets. The sergeant tasks adventurers with hunting down the beast before it wreaks further havoc.
- Lost Pearl Necklace: A distraught villager seeks assistance in retrieving a family heirloom—a valuable pearl necklace. Relate to one of the above quests.
- Fisherman's Wharf: This bustling district is home to the village's fishing fleet, as well as the local blacksmith who crafts sturdy harpoons and fishing gear.
- Market Square: Here, traders sell their fresh catch and pearls, while the general store stocks provisions and basic supplies. Traveling merchants often set up stalls, offering exotic wares from distant lands
- Blacksmith: Run by Pete, who forges weapons and tools for the fishermen and adventurers alike.
- Limited Healing and Potions: The village healer, Hazel, brews medicinal potions and salves from local herbs and seaweed.
- General Store: Managed by Old Tom, the general store stocks everything from basic supplies to souvenirs and trinkets.
- Traveling Merchant: A nomadic trader known as Wanderlust Wanda, who brings exotic goods from distant lands to the village market.
- Net Mender's Hut: Run by Clara, who specializes in repairing and crafting intricate fishing nets.
- Nellie's Antiques; operated by Nellie, offering an eclectic assortment of treasures salvaged from the sea and the village's history.
- The Salty Seagull: A cozy inn favored by locals, known for its hearty seafood stews and warm hearth.
- The Mermaid's Rest: A lively tavern where sailors gather to sing sea shanties and swap stories late into the night.
- Guard/Deputy: Deputy Drake, a loyal guardian of the village who keeps watch over the streets.
- Farmer: Fishbeard, a stout halfing, tends to his seaweed fields and kelp gardens, providing fresh produce to the villagers.
- Merchant: Tricia, who travels from port to port, trading goods and sharing tales of her adventures.
- Traveler: Captain Alden, a seasoned seafarer (an smuggler) who docks in Poirt Calim seeking crewmates for his next voyage.
- Random: Seadog Sam, a weathered sailor with a penchant for spinning tall tales of sea monsters and lost treasures.
- Barlon Meek; the most expirienced rebel, and though not exactly the leader, he is looked to for his expirience and insight.
- Jack tanner; ack is a seasoned fisherman with decades of experience plying the waters of the coast. His intimate knowledge of tides, currents, and hidden shoals proves invaluable for planning covert maritime operations and smuggling essential supplies past enemy blockades.
- Samara; a skilled tracker and hunter, familiar with the terrain surrounding Port Calim like the back of her hand. Her ability to navigate the wilderness and gather valuable intelligence on enemy movements makes her an essential asset to the rebel cause.
- Owen; an apprenticed blacksmith before his fathers business was burned by brigaders for providing supplies to rebels in Norcross. His ability to fashion crude but effective weapons from scrap metal salvaged from the battlefield keeps the rebel forces armed and ready for combat.
