Arkius
Arkius is a tidally locked planet, home to the fiendish and celestial races of Ranthia.
The celestial races hold territory in the leading habitable zone, known as the heavens, surrounded on all sides by the Abyss.
The devilish races hold territory in the lagging habitable zone, known as the Nine Hells and surrounded on all sides by the Abyss.
The Abyss comprises both the sun side and space side of the planet, and contains all the demonic hordes of Ranthia. The demons continually attempt to attack both the heavens and the hells, and are mostly devoted to complete chaos and destruction, usually with very little in the way of plans or goals. The constant war between all three races (and amongst them) keeps the other planets in the system mostly protected from the immensely powerful creatures there, but the war sometimes spills out.
