Selene

Selene is one of the Aborigines, the Old Gods of Rakuen, the Last of the Sisters, and formerly known as The Moon, and now the secondary to Hyperion as a prominent figure in the Pantheon of Caitiff. They are the celestial form of The Moon of Rakuen. Their body inhabits that of The Shadowfell, which is now controlled by The Imperatrix Elnoyle, severely limiting The Moon's autonomy. Nevertheless, Selene remains a vastly powerful god with a great deal of influence on both mortal and celestial affairs.   In cosmogony, Selene is married to Hyperion. Together, they dance with their brother Eos, and take care of their other siblings Arborea and Thalassa. Selene is seen as kind, yet stern; sometimes uncompromising, and sometimes communicative. This lends her to being worshiped for her imperfections, and the imperfections of mortals, and people generally see her as kind but also relentless when scorned. Selene is also a mystical goddess, having a weak control over various forms of magic that are generally outside of her domain, including Wyld Magic, Raw Magic, and The Weave in general.   The strongest adherents of all for Selene are surface-dwelling Drow, who see her as a stronger guide than Hyperion. Modern churches and cults to Selene have many of their traditions to thank to these surface-dwelling Drow, whose rites and practices became mainstreamed through the passage of their ancient beliefs in the Old Gods and the continuance of their adherence form the 5th Age. Tieflings and Tabaxi also commonly worship Selene, as do they with all of the Old Gods. Gnomes appreciate Selene for her magical capabilities. Other races that tend to worship Selene are Satyrs, Minotaur, and Centaur.

Holidays

Day of Rakuen: A day, usually in the late spring and early summer, that honors the planet Rakuen for all of its splendor. It is a day where people are encouraged to leave the house and enjoy nature. Activities tend to be hosted near bodies of water, such as rivers or the ocean, and usually feature fruits and vegetable snacks to consume. Berry-picking, fishing, and foraging are also common activities. Although this day is ostensibly secular, it is also one that religious adherents dedicate to the old gods, the Aborigines, those who held this realm long before any life came to Rakuen.
