Hyperion

Hyperion is one of the Aborigines, the Old Gods of Rakuen, formerly known as The Core, and now the leader of the group known as the Pantheon of Caitiff. They are a manifestation of Rakuen in divine form. In casual worship, this is generally seen to mean that Rakuen is a living, breathing being, that is to be cared for and respected, or by others, to be used for mortal affairs. On a more celestial scale, Hyperion is seen as a dominant god, one that seeks the best interests of Rakuen itself.    In cosmogony, Hyperion is married to Selene, The Moon. Together, they dance with their brother Eos, and take care of their other siblings Arborea and Thalassa. Hyperion is seen as tough, angry, and uncompromising. This resoluteness makes him particularly popular with those who tend to be connected to the earth itself, or those who live within the crust of Rakuen. Dwarves and all Underdark individuals tend to worship The Core actively, as do Dragonborn. All of the Pantheon of the Caitiff are frequently worshiped in Tiefling communities. Further, races that come from monstrous lineage worship The Core: Minotaur, Centaur, and goblinoids all have ancient religious rites connected to that of Hyperion.

Holidays

Day of Rakuen: A day, usually in the late spring and early summer, that honors the planet Rakuen for all of its splendor. It is a day where people are encouraged to leave the house and enjoy nature. Activities tend to be hosted near bodies of water, such as rivers or the ocean, and usually feature fruits and vegetable snacks to consume. Berry-picking, fishing, and foraging are also common activities. Although this day is ostensibly secular, it is also one that religious adherents dedicate to the old gods, the Aborigines, those who held this realm long before any life came to Rakuen.
