Arborea

Arborea is one of the Aborigines, the Old Gods of Rakuen, formerly known as The Arbor, and now one of the Pantheon of Caitiff. They are a manifestation of nature and the wilds of Rakuen in divine form. Arborea has had their power drastically limited in the past two ages, first in their protection of Rakuen during the The Day of Fallen Sky at the end of the 5th Age, and her stripping of power by the new god of nature, Neive, Daughter of the Grove. Although many adherents of the Old Gods consider Neive to be the daughter of Arborea, this is not the truth, as Arborea has no direct connection to the ascension of Neive.    In her current state, Arborea is seen as a faithful guide to mortals. She aids in the growth of plants and harvest, consorts with mystical beings of the world, and has a mysterious connection to Rakuen that can never be undone. In cosmogony, however, she serves as an unerring protector of Rakuen and Hyperion, and seeks to use what power she has left to pursue the greatest good.    While Arborea is most frequently observed by Tiefling and Tabaxi communities, she is also quite popular with Human communities, who tend to be agrarian and need her guidance frequently. Halflings and Satyrs also have a strong connection with her. Mages also seek her guidance; while Custodia is the god charged with the guidance of magic, some see Custodia's work to empower magic within the realms of Rakuen as nontraditional; Sorcerers and Warlocks, in particular - and generally any other individual who inherited their magic from an outside source, rather than through education - tend to value Arborea's older views on magic.   Elves, who generally dislike all of the Pantheon of the Caitiff, have a soft spot for Arborea. She is seen as a protector of Elves, who kept them safe in the waning days between the First and Second Halcyon. They also see her as a point of power when casting High Elven Magic, and use her guidance in their rituals.

Holidays

Day of Rakuen: A day, usually in the late spring and early summer, that honors the planet Rakuen for all of its splendor. It is a day where people are encouraged to leave the house and enjoy nature. Activities tend to be hosted near bodies of water, such as rivers or the ocean, and usually feature fruits and vegetable snacks to consume. Berry-picking, fishing, and foraging are also common activities. Although this day is ostensibly secular, it is also one that religious adherents dedicate to the old gods, the Aborigines, those who held this realm long before any life came to Rakuen.
