Position: The daughter of Dorakk and a long-ago giantess who was a seer and a sorceress. Sometimes partner of Drottinn, the god of strength and might.
Appearance: A beautiful woman in fine, warm clothes and a jeweled circlet over long, wavy tresses. She wears a magical falcon-feathered cloak which allows her to fly at need. She is often accompanied by a large snowcat companion.
Backstory: Vedis is said to be the most beautiful of the gods of Raios. Her passions are legend. She has never married, though is known to be a partner of Drottinn in times of love and war. She is a seer of fates – of gods and mortals – and her magic for weaving fates are also unmatched. She is a legendary perfectionist but this, too, is revered and emulated by her followers, for material things and the weave of fate are more beautiful as a result. Bards occasionally sing songs of Vedis’ loves and her passions, but they do so with caution and care: things can go badly for bards whose performance and song about Vedis are not as beautiful as she is. Her frequent animal companion is a huge snow leopard named Hårek (HOAR-ick). Legend says that Hårek (spear, in Arnan) was once a beautiful human prince Vedis took as a lover. So that they could remain together forever, Vedis transformed him into a huge snow leopard who she can summon at any time with her magic spear. Vedis is revered especially for having given her Arn worshippers urgent visions, prior to The Great Cataclysm, that they must board their longboats and sail to the west, to Aorlan.

Her clergy are priestesses, whether male or female, and always notably attractive. Her temples and the trappings of her faith are also always made of the best and finest of materials, and so only larger and wealthier cities or towns are home to them. Vedis has many followers in smaller and remote locations, but all of them make pilgrimages to her beautiful temples.
Tenets: Followers should always cultivate and revere physical and material beauty and a passion for that which is beautiful. They should always be mindful of the weaving of fates – their own and those around them.
Paladin Code: Paladins of Vedis call themselves Valkyrie (vahl-KEER-ee) and wear feathered cloaks. Their chosen weapon is the spear. Their code is to understand the weavings of fate and to defend it, especially but not only for the worshippers of Vedis. The most mystical of Valkyrie are reputed to have the power to help the souls of the fallen on to their next destination.
