As the capital for the elven kingdom of Linde Lothtaur, it consists of a large, enchanted grove of enormous ancient trees, into which magnificent houses and public buildings are built into the limbs of the trees themselves. The resplendent architecture serves as a home to thousands of Valtauri, including renown elf scholars, mages, nobles, and students of the arts and music.
The city's architecture harmonizes seamlessly with its natural surroundings, creating a breathtaking sight that draws admiration from all who visit. Tauralaire is celebrated as one of the most beautiful and extraordinary cities in the world, captivating the hearts of those fortunate enough to behold its ethereal splendor. At night, the trees are alight with the glow of small magical lights suspended in the branches and along walkways.
Tauralaire serves as a great center of elven learning, trade, and culture. Their advanced schools of magic, history, and the arts have few rivals in the world, serving as one of the few great repositories of knowledge of the ancient world.

The city existed long before humans first appeared in the world. The elves of Tauralaire continued in their quiet ways while human civilization grew and propered. While the Great Cataclysm destroyed much of the civilized world, Tauralaire was spared the violent upheaval that afflicted much of the world. While the earth did shake, powerful protective magics allowed the city to survive mostly intact. The elves magic also kept away the cruel and powerful chaos storms which brought so much sorrow to most of the world.
Today: The city echoes with music and finds itself filled with wonderous scuptures and artwork. Great academies and colleges add to the city's prestige and reputation as a premier center of the arts and learning.
