Climate and Weather Patterns: The Great Southern Sea, marked by tranquility for much of the year, transforms during the summer months into a tempestuous battleground as ferocious storms, born in the tropical jungles of the Troog area, barrel eastward across its warm waters, often forming deadly typhoons. These storms unleash relentless fury with towering waves and devastating winds, rendering sea travel impossible and forcing vessels to seek shelter to survive.

Marine Life: The Great Southern Sea teems with great schools of fish, providing food and a livelyhood for those living on its waters. Great flock of birds also call this sea home. However, there are some dangerous creatures that live in these waters. Along shorelines, giant crocodiles and sea snakes swim the shallows, always on the lookout for an easy meal. Farther offshore great sharks ply the reefs while dangerous sea monsters, ancient beasts from the distant past, still survive in small numbers.

Cultural & Historical Significance: Amidst the sea's azure waters lies a nearly 2,000 mile long chain of islands under the dominion of the Valmyrrian Empire. The Valmyrrian navy's prowess provides protection for the whole northernmost area of the Great Southern Sea against pirates and the everpresent lurking threat from sea monsters.
