The Great Range

The Great Range, sometimes called the Range for short, is a massive mountain range that crosses the entire continent, splitting it in two. South of the Range lies the Rai Realms and human Kingdoms, north of it lies the great Xorian Empire.   The mountain range is filled with many high peaks, fertile valleys and lush forests. This has given rise to several civilizations sometimes called the Mountainous Realms or the Mountain Kingdoms. Currently five major powers contest parts of the Range: Kingdom of Mycerik, Kingdom of Oxem, Kingdom of Thyn, the Mountain Clans and the Rai Realm of Nhal   The Great Range is nearly impassable with only two passes connecting the south and the north. These passes are located in the central and western parts of the Range and they are guarded by two great Xorian walls.

Locations

The Great Range takes up massive amount of land mass and is filled with many valleys, peaks and forests. This has lead to many areas and mountains being divided up into areas.

Realm of Nhal

The eastern part of the Great Range is often called the the Mountains of Nhal and is the collection of several mountains, peaks and valleys that falls under the control of the Rai Realm of Nhal.   The Valley of Nhal is a large and fertile valley that lies in the center of the eastern portion of the Range. It is the center of the Realm of Nhal where it's capital Nhar'anor is located.   The Valley of the Moon is the second largest valley in Nhal and is the home of the city Ashnal'rahno where the greatest moon temple is located. West of the valley are the Mountains of the Moon which stretches through central Nhal, from south the of Valley of Nhal down to the border of Soll and Hald.    Coldval is the currently eastern most territory of the Realm of Nhal. The valley is barren and cold compared to many other of the valleys in Nhal which are often very fertile and temperate. It is also the home of the greatest fortress in Nhal, the Coldfort.   The Drakwan Forest is the biggest forest in Nhal and is very important for its timber. It is also home to Drakhaven, the second most populace city in Nhal.   The Mountains of Vaer is the most northern part of the mountains of nhal. It is often split into Norvaer and Eastvaer.
  • Norvaer is the northernmost point of the Nhalrai Realm and has the highest peak of the mountains. Norvaer is impassable, which leads the Nhalrai have very little contact with the Xorian Emprie
  • Eastern Vaer is divided with Norvaer by the Drakwan Forest and Ne's Passage. Eastvaer stretches over most of the eastern shore of Nhal and south to Hald.
Mount Nend is a small mountain in the middle of Nend Valley in southern Nhal between the Mountains of Renn and Mountains of the Moon. North of Nend Valley is Coldval and the Coldfort. It is home to the southern most Nhalrai city of Nendro. It is also the main connection between Soll and Nhal.     Mountains of Renn is technically part of the Mountains of Nhal but belongs to the Realm of Soll. It is the southern most part the Great Range. It is located in the southeastern most part of Nhal. Renn is a very important position for the Sollrai as it's very rich in ore and many conflicts between Nhal and Soll have been fought there.   Mountains of Orin is on of the largest mountain parts of the Great Range, stretching from western Valley of Nhal all the way to the Human Kingdom of Thyn. It was once the eastern most territory of the Nhalrai Realm and had a large city with the name Orindara, the city was however destroyed in the Great Wars. Most of the territory is still claimed by the Realm of Nhal but they have little control over it as the area is largely abandoned.   The Mountains of Und lies between Mountains of Renn and Orin, stretching from Coldval in the northeast to the border of Sanctuary in the southwest. The area shares a similar fate to the Mountains of Orin, once territory under the Realm of Nhal with the largest population center Undrin being destroyed during the Great Wars. It is largely abandoned at the currant era.
