Kjihan

✧ Kjihan — The Kingdom of Light & Illusory Flame

Elemental Alignment: Light Flame (Avajt)

Dominant Root: avaj (derived from Vajra)

Cultural Affinity: Time-weavers, illusion-casters, light-walkers

Capital City: Vayashan (“Seat of Radiant Reflection”)

Overview

Kjihan is one of the most powerful and politically influential lands on Rahmori, next to Tsujan. Known for its crystalline cities, blinding golden sunfields, and mastery of time-bending illusions, Kjihan is the spiritual and technological home of the Avajt element—Light Flame, an evolved form of sacred fire that reveals truth, memory, and illusion through radiance.

At its center sits Vayashan, a city built of mirrored spires and resonant crystal towers designed to refract and store historical light. The people of Kjihan believe light is the first ancestor, and from it, all understanding flows.

Their power lies not only in their brightness, but in their control of perception—mastery of illusory defense, memory shielding, and radiant deception. For this, Kjihan is both respected and feared.

Geography

Kjihan is nestled atop a golden mesa region, with radiant plains and crystalline ridges. Light pools naturally in its air, refracting between floating arches and tower cities. The terrain is smooth, sloping, and seemingly always illuminated—even at night.

  • Localized Phenomena: The Sunveil, a natural aurora seen at midday; alters time perception.
  • Climate: Warm and dry, with cyclical sun-storms that recharge light-infused crystals.
  • Ecosystem: Minimal wildlife; mostly flora—light-feeding trees, memory-mosses, and glowroot vines.
  • Flora & Fauna: Crystal bloom trees, sunglint moths, and prism-feathered larks.
  • Natural Resources: Solarstone, radiant sand, lightglass, and memory mirrors.

Governance & Control

Kjihan is one of only two surviving monarchies on Rahmori, ruled by the sovereign Avavori Matarch, currently Kym Medu-Tsunam. Kym rose to power not through bloodline, but by mastering the deepest levels of Light Flame—blending illusion and truth so seamlessly that even the Council was forced to kneel.

Though nominally autonomous, Kjihan maintains close alliance with the Council. However, cracks are beginning to show—internal factions of Avaari (ancient Light seers) are rising in secret, warning of the cost of blinding obedience.

  • Traditional Governance: Radiant Velharyn
  • Current Governance: Kassaj Court (ruled by The Kassaj alongside by Kym)
  • Resistance Factions: Silent Sun of the Timekeepers

History

Kjihan’s origins lie in the ancient Light of Flame, a legendary fire gifted to the first illusion-weaver by a fallen star. From there, they developed the Tower of Ascending Light, which taught the elite to bend perception, time, and memory.

Once a bastion of knowledge, the monarchy was reshaped after the rise of the Council. Many seers and rebels were erased or bound, and only Kym, a child of shadow-illusion turned light master, was allowed to ascend to the throne. Her rule represents both resistance and obedience, and it is unclear how long the balance will hold.
