A cloaked figure approached me, and demanded I let them inside. I told them to come back with some coin, I'm not easily intimidated by cowards that refuse to show their face. Slowly, they removed their cloak, and what I saw I will now spend the rest of my days attempting to forget.
— Unknown guard
The Kub-Glorrha predate humanity, and are among the few surviving cosmic parasites that once populated Qet. Today, however, they are unrecognizable as their former selves— having been twisted and malformed by their vengeful god as punishment for a great blasphemy.

Origin
The Kub-Glorrha are one of the many parasites that, upon the great god
Qetlon's death, ventured outside of the corpse to populate the new world. As parasites, the Kub-Glorrha had resided within Qetlon's heart. Their time here gave them bodies much like those belonging to
humanity— who would be formed from Qetlon's heart hundreds of years later.
The forms seen today have been wildly mishapen through an immortal curse given to them by their god,
Ytnolshola, and now they are unrecognizable as either early Kub-Glorrha or present humans.
Appearance
The bodies of the Kub-Glorrha have been warped as punishment for an attempt to gain godhood by sacrificing the child of the god
Ytnolshola. They appear— quite literally—
twisted, as if some unseen force had pulled at them like clay. Their sickly pale-green skin is pulled tight under their ribcages and around their spines, compacting their internal organs and shoving them lower into their abdomens. Their organs— having been shoved into their lower abdomens— can be seen faintly through their skin, and their varied shapes leave the surface bumpy and uneven.
It's a mystery how they are able to walk upright, but they have proven to be a surprisingly resilient people. Their fibulae have detached from their lower legs at the bottom— extending backwards, like some kind of spur. This gives the Kub-Glorrha better footing, making it more difficult to knock them down. The ends of their hips jut up and out at strange angles, appearing like organic greaves protecting their more exposed organs, which end in bony points about six inches upwards. Somehow, their arms appear to be bursting with muscle— but only at the shoulder, growing skinnier towards the hand which appears to be made of nothing but skin and bone.
Two four-inch circular holes have been punched through their chests where their nipples and lungs ought to be. These holes are angled inward and meet to make a six-inch hole in center of their backs. And yet, they still breathe. The insides of these holes are covered with a thin layer of skin, in a vain attempt by their bodies to heal the wounds. Whenever one dies, they are reborn through the chest cavities of another— an excruciatingly painful experience for both.
Sunk into their torsos, their heads have been melded between their shoulders— facing upwards so that their chins rest in their chests, and their foreheads rest where their spinal columns would normally have ended. Their spines, rather than disappear where their heads had sunk, have adjusted to this— and instead wrap over the scalp— jutting out like some macabre horn just before reaching their foreheads. Hair only grows in a ring where their scalps meet their backs, in long, wispy purple strands. Immortality, and a constant shortage of food in their home of
Shoal'Ghnu has lead to most Kub-Glorrha being emaciated. As such, their eyes and cheeks are often sunken, pronouncing the shapes of their skulls. These eyes are pale-purple in color, with a soft gradient towards a paler, lighter purple at their centers.
Test Subjects
The
alchemists of
Louh are always in search of new materials for use in their work, and the few who are aware of their existence hold the Kub-Glorrha in high regard as test subjects. Not being human, the alchemical properties of their bodies cannot be found anywhere else, and some believe that they can create a potion for immortality if they could only find the right combination of ingredients. Of course, this is made quite difficult by the fact that the Kub-Glorrha do not leave corpses behind.
In order to gather parts, they must painstakingly be kept alive as alchemists extract organs and body parts to experiment with. This can be a period of horrible suffering at the hands of especially skilled alchemists. At least they may find some solace in the fact that they will not remember this particular suffering upon their rebirth.
Playing as a Kub-Glorrha
The Kub-Glorrha are a playable form in the Qet TTRPG, with their own unique Traits, body parts, and stats! Their immortal curse keeps your Kub-Glorrha characters from dying permanently— but they will remember nothing of your adventures. Besides this, their fibulae grant them resistance against being knocked down, and their chest cavities allow them to store objects inside their person without requiring containers.
