the Kidd Pirates
An organization seen as the next superpower
History
In the aftermath of the Kutzk Gang Wars, Boss-oyabun Kidd MacEustace sits on his throne, looking over the city of Kutzk and knows he will never find peace here. With his newly gained power and fortune, he bullies the islands ship writes into selling a nearly finished brig ship to him (he does threaten and pay off the reluctant would have been owner quite handsomely as even if he has never left the island, he doesn't want his new home to be cursed before they even leave)
Kidd would christen her Victoria Punk-go so that his late friend can also leave the place that lead to her death, as an apology for not being there when she died, and as a reminder to how quickly one can be lost when there's no one to watch one's back.
Boss-mhòr Killer - his partner in both crime and life in general - doesn't hesitate to join him. The duo ask their sometimes rivals-sometimes allies Boss-mhòr Heat and Wire how they plan on dividing the city between the two of them. If they will both be Boss-oyabun or if they plan to fight for the title. The two older men have grown fond of the young kids and ask what they plan to do on the sea anyway; if they're playing pirate, do they plan to come visit Kutzk as a safe harbor?
Killer admits she doesn't think they will ever come back here. Kidd agrees- he thinks of an old shanty he used to hear as a child, before his parents' murders - and says he wants to see the Grand Line. He doesn't want to be boss or lord or king of some forgotten city that's eating itself alive - he wants to see the world. He wants to be a Pirate King; lord over his own destiny and beholden to no one and no land.
Wire, who has some sailing knowledge, thinks this is quite the ambitious dream. Heat, with his own disillusionment and baggage with Kutzk, can understand the desire to level the city and sail far far away.
They do not outright level the city, but slip quietly away, leaving a massive power vacuum in their wake and a city more than happy to destroy itself fighting for the scraps.
Demography and Population
While the Kidd Pirates would eventually amass a small fleet with enough crew under each of their commands that each founding member had their own ship and responsibilities, the core crews all hail from Kutzk, and have been along side each other since the early days in the city.
