Ansisamslo was given two orders by Kingwulf
in return for rulership over southwest Fenrir:
to expand the western border, and to rear the
young Fenrir children, weeding out any who are
not fit to survive. Cleansing is the city where
The Duke of Ravens makes this happen.
Daily caravans of young Fenrir are lead into
the city by their Shepherds, priests handpicked
by Ansisamslo’s captains to watch over the
children. Once in the city, the children undergo
rigorous and brutal education and physical
training. Those who can’t keep up are sent to
the north to reinforce the border, and those who
show promise are sent to the capitol.
The rest are lead by the Shepherds on a
pilgrimage from Life Duct to Life Duct, drinking
from each one they pass. Every child partakes
in the cyclical pilgrimage for five years, or
until they gain a Donum. Those without a
Donum are allowed to return home. Those
who gain a Donum however, are taken to the
city corresponding to their transformation for
further training.
Those who develop Donum Portentum are
instead trained to be suicide soldiers on the
front lines of battle, so that they may serve in
the only way they are allowed to: by dying.
