The Wild Hunt
Some say they are specters and warriors of death. Some say they are cursed souls punished for their dark deeds. Some think they are the created servants of a mage who died long ago. In truth, no one knows why the ghosts of the dead still roam the earth or why they grab people seemingly at random to drag them away to never be seen again if they are lucky that is. The unlucky as said to be seen among their ranks or adorning the armor of the hunt.
Summary
Fear the ending of the day and the setting of the sun, for that, is when the Wild Hunt begins their ride. They are specters and wraths the ride upon skeletal horses wreathed in a flame that freezes all that it touches. No man nor mage is safe for they with shrug off magic and blades as if the weapons were are nothing. They come for souls throughout the world stealing them away to enact dark rituals to forge blades and plagues upon the world.
Fear the time when the moon and it's two children have all turned dark, for that is when they rule the world. It is the time when they are their strongest and poor souls are inducted into their ranks
Historical Basis
The wild hunt has been spotted by people all across history in every land, of every faith, of every kind. They have often been seen as omens of great horrors for not only their theft of people but when they are seen it often means terrible events have followed soon after. Looking at history retrospectively it is impossible to say though if their arrival was them heralding the great disasters or the merely were dawn to these dark comings.

The Wild Hunt is common knowledge among much of the world, often with many different names that are far from each other. There are small pockets of society though that do not seem to be aware of these beings, though it is not uncommon for these people being mostly isolated from large societies
Variations & Mutation
To be truthful there is no set name for the wild hunt they take on numerous different name and appearances depending on the culture that claims to sees them. It has at times be speculated that because of this it is not one set of figures but numerous different groups all operating on different objectives but have been lumped together due to fear.
It very commonly added that the only thing that the warriors of the Wild Hunt feared and that could slay one of them was The Black Blade of Nar'arkyr itself. Which was said to have been sealed away for the protection of mankind by its creator? If there is any truth to this story there is nothing but speculation and guesswork since no one lives from that ancient era and the blade is lost in time it can not exactly be tested.
