The Black Blade of Nar'arkyr

The runes on the blade are said to have granted strength to the user and make it a blade without equal. The exact power of these runes and their original intent are unfortunately lost to the sands of time. It is though specifically noted to have had these runes long before any other power   The blade's curse as it is often called would supposedly appear when its second master fell to its blade. The blade would feed ambitions, in the hands of a good man it could be used to protect, but the lengths one would go to where endless until they become the monsters they fought In the hands one who desired death or power it drove them mad.   Many different legends exist arise later in the empire's history in which it is said to hold such power that even The Wild Hunt fear the accursed blade. To use it one could restore life to the dead, restoring the soul or raising them in undeath.

It in many ways is seen as one of the symbols of the Nar'arkyr empire long ago. It was wielded by many of the empire's noble families and several generals of the empire. Its first two wielders can be said to have laid the very foundation of the empire. It, however, was used as much against them as it did for them. To this day the blade is so reviled it taints the fallen empire to nearly all who know of it, for people fear it and think the sword is cursed.
