Collector Pin
“Why do people have funny names? Like that one, they just got named ‘Collector.’”
“It is not a name, it is a title. They are marks of honor for others to quickly understand how important and skilled or powerful one is and often mark deeds or core aspects of one’s being. You have them as well - The Creator, The Sullen, The Sav-”
“I wanna be a Collector too! It looks like a lot of fun, and it means there’s more of those titles, right?”
“You are a god, that mortal title means nothing compared to the feats you’ve already achieved. Besides, I think you need to be a member of the Society and your divinity would give you an unfair advantage.”
The Collector pin is part of a unique set of pins that do not require a test of proficiency or completion of a training course. Instead, these pins only require members to collect a certain number of badges overall and they earn it automatically. These pins are not displayed on the sash that chronicles collected badges, but instead is displayed on the uniform itself, or by securing a scarf, raincoat, or cape as a broach.
The hierarchy of the Society of Young Adventurers is both age and merit based. As members grow in age, they reach new ranks that mark them as responsible enough to take on more difficult challenges and tests of aptitude. These ranks, however, are usually a foregone conclusion - every member will eventually reach each rank and ultimately age out of the program and have the chance to join the Adventurer's Guild. The real marks of honor are the litany of badges that are available to earn based on achievements and skills developed while in the Society.
