The three drops of pluvia
When the gods created Prismundi, they shead tears of pure energy and potential. Upon impact with the plane, these tears burst and snapped into more specific forms of light or energy. They formed the colours of the world, spreading out and organizing in a beautiful spectrum. Some drops sprouted into plants. Other drops kept jumping around until they formed fins, legs and wings. They painted the landscape with fire, earth and water, and they sweetened the air for the living things to breathe.
However, there have been drops that did not lose their potential. Instead, they were incapsulated where they landed, and surrounded with a protective layer of crystal. Inside, the liquid roils with all the possible and impossible colours. These are now called drops of pluvia.
In the earliest days of Prismundi, three people each found a drop of pluvia, cracked open the shell and drank its fluid. They each gained eternal life, and the ability to see beyond the Prism, into the plane of the gods. The first of the three was the Disciple. They used their gift to speak with the gods. Having learned from their divinity, the Disciple pierced the heavens on the highest peak of the lands, and drew forth the endless spring that now falls at the center of Albion. They are still believed to be responsible for miracles of healing and life.
The second, who is called the Renegade, used their newfound powers to seed chaos. They deemed Prismundi too perfect, and sought to bring forth change and progress, to give life a purpose to strive towards. They wove the darkness from the Outskirts, its corruption now embroidered througout the Prism, separating it into the realms of the Colores. They are said to be responsible for suddens storms, unexplained illnesses and bad luck.
The third one is called the Drifter. They are the most mysterious of the three, and apparently moved away from society after gaining their powers. Now roaming around the realms, they guide people to their destinies through small signs and omens. The Drifter is believed to be responsible for all sorts of unexplained events, tricks of the light, or sudden strokes of luck. Some believe the Drifter collected all the other drops of pluvia in Prismundi, either to drink themselves or to prevent anyone else from gaining the powers locked within.
Even though all sorts of events are still being attributed to the Disciple, the Renegade, and the Drifter, no one has ever found another drop of pluvia beyond depictions of this myth. At least, not that has ever been recorded...
