Albion

Resting at the centrepoint of Prismundi, this shining metropole is the beating heart of the realms, literally and figuratively. After the Disciple opened up the Spring of the Heavens, an endless waterfall from the skyrealm, the center of the Prism was forever bathed in bright light. Feeling that this would be the safest place against the creatures of darkness that spilled from the Outskirts, people quickly settled around the waterfall. The mountain was slowly chipped away, first by erosion from the Spring of the Heavens, but then also for building materials. People thrived here together, no longer each separated on their own Colores.

Nowadays Albion is the ultimate trading hub between the realms. This city sports a diversity of colours seen nowhere else. The surrounding mountainous landscape has fed the architecture with bright white limestone and marble, but the citizens have livened it up with tapestries and paints from all over Prismundi. Some neighourhoods are distinctly homed by the people from one specific Colores, while others have formed cultures around combinations of Colores that do not meet out in the Prism. An example being the Lavender district, which combines the woodworks of Viridis with the stained glass creations of Purpura and is known for its beautiful floral designs.

Most people visit Albion as tourists to have a safe environment to encounter the other cultures, instead of travelling through the tunnels. But it is expensive to stay for long. Most can only afford to walk around the transit center for a few hours, before catching their next locomotive back home. The people actually living in Albion tend to come from wealthy families. Owning property in Albion is definitely a status symbol which can grant you influence out in the Colores.

Besides the many marketplaces, guild houses, and banks, the city also houses the Union of Colores, or Unico, functioning as the joint government of Prismundi. The city itself is run by the Master of Citizens, ruling from the Albion City Hall, but the Unico is made up of representatives of the rulers of the Colores that decide on matters exceeding the borders of the Prism. Since they all have independent governments, this can be an elected role or an inherited one. They have shared power to hold the rulers of the Colores accountable.
