Saint Caelan of the Waves
Born in 198 gc to a large, religious, family in Mountport Caelan Queenan strove for greatness. He had a largely uneventful childhood save for a few fights with other children. Caelan spent most of his time on or in the water getting to know the unique currents and tides in Mountport. At the age of 14 Caelan was allowed to join the military one of the youngest ever to pass the training exam. He quickly made a name for himself after rescuing a toddler and her father who had slipped off the rocks to find themselves swept away by the currents.
At the age of 18, Caelan was placed into the prestigious Hydroclast Brotherhood, a religious order of Boann within the navy. There he trained as a paladin of Boann embodying the primordial's relentless nature. During a watch one evening Caelan was on watch when a group of soldiers from another state attempted to infiltrate the city. According to the legend, Caelan told his partner to go for help while he took on the 12 men himself. Once help arrived all 12 men lay injured on the group with Caelan standing over them bearing a large wound on his neck. The scar would serve as a badge of honor for Caelan throughout his career.
Caelan fought in many battles and quickly rose through the ranks to captain where he helmed his own ship, the Wavesong. He was known as a compassionate captain who required the best from his crew and himself. As he got stronger so did his bond with Boann. He was 26 when he performed his first miracle and resurrected a slain member of his crew. From here on Caelan received nothing but praise and accolades. He proved to be one of the greatest captains in history having never lost a vessel to storm or attack. Another of the future Saint's legendary exploits granted him the epithet "of the Waves". The Wavesong was being chased through enemy territory by a small fleet of ships. Being outmatched in speed Caelan ordered the Wavesong into a storm bank. The storm seemed to part for the mighty triton and the Wavesong made it through the storm unscathed. The same could not be said for the enemy fleet none of which made it out of the storm. Calean spent the last 50 years of his career serving as High Admiral. Upon his retirement, Caelan was granted a seat on the Council of Nine representing Bhurnfaldur. He died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 234.
