Lama Taesi
The legendary floating city of Lama Taesi makes its way around Primordia trading goods and keeping a watchful eye on its territories. During The Rending Lama Taesi was blessed by the wind Primordial Vayu-Vata. Vayu-Vata respected the elves for their ability to adapt as well as their beauty and grace. During the Rending Vayu-Vata launched the city and much of the surrounding countryside into the air and out of the range of the magical explosion. They then left a piece of themselves with the citizens, so they would always remain floating in the clouds. This took the form of several dozen gemstones embedded in the earth beneath the city known as Zephyrite. Lama Tasei travells a set path through the world, following the trails of magical energy left by the destruction of the Ley Orb.
Lama Taesi features a large island, known as the Core, with 7 smaller islands rotating around it like moons around a planet. The Core contains the Mistral Tower, which serves as the seat of government as well as the home of Lama Taesi's royal family. It also houses the temple district, the merchant quarter, and homes for the more affluent citizens. The remaining islands house the rest of the citizens of Lama Taesi as well as farmland. One of the largest exports from the city is the griffons the breed. These animals are used as taxis to and from each of the islands as well as ferrying people from the surface of Primordia. They also harvest a magically powerful ore known as Leygate. This ore is extremely dangerous to obtain and even more valuable. It is used in the creation of new magical items as well as a catalyst making arcane magic much more powerful.
Lama Taesi is ruled by seven Elven families who have consolidated power over the centuries. Once every 100 years the families gather to select a new Emperor/ess rotating in a set pattern between the families. This person acts as the liaison to the citizens of Lama Taesi as well as settles disputes as they arise between the families. The next changing of the Emperor is scheduled to occur in 515 GC.
