Memellic
Basic Information
Anatomy
A species of human like insect hybrids. They're bipedal, but have antennae, large bug like eyes, and slim torsos.
Genetics and Reproduction
The memellic are hatched from eggs, with the average mother producing over 3 a year, from ages 20-45 , leaving Memel to be one of the most overpopulated planets in the universe.
Growth Rate & Stages
The memellic have extremely short "culling stages" which is a term used by Soltarians to describe their childhoods. They're called culling stages because over half of the younglings usually die off from starvation, or die to one of the many beasts on the planet. They usually turn fully grown by the ages of 13-15. After they're fully grown, their aging slows down to a nearly complete stop, as most of the Memellic live to be around 300 years old if they're not killed by unnatural causes.
Additional Information
Average Intelligence
Male - Memellic males are often around the 85 IQ mark. Their role in society isn't to think, but rather fight and protect their families.
Female - Memellic females are usually extremely intelligent, with IQ scores averaging around the 135 mark. They're the leaders of their families and of their societies.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Their antennae allow them to detect movement in the air of the caves, and better hear echoing sounds. Memel is home to large creatures that are capable of killing entire towns of the Memellic, so it's important for them to have more precautions.
Civilization and Culture
History
The Memellic are a species from Memel that resemble what Earth calls cockroaches if they evolved into human-like creatures. They gained their bug-like features over the span of the last 400,000 years as their planet started to heat up due to Bloodshed throwing a moon into it's surface, which slightly knocked Memel out of its original orbit, leading it closer to the sun. Originally, the memellic were a group of Soltarians who migrated to Memel around the year 600,000 B.C.E., but due to different foods, lifestyles, and temperatures, their DNA slowly became something else. The heat pushed them to live underneath the surface, resulting in even more DNA changes and mutations. They slowly developed antennae, slimmer bodies to burrow in caves, and went back to two eyes, no longer needing two that adapted to sunlight.
