Pack Leader

In order to become the leader of their pack an Oddcrura must be educated on the laws and history of Oddcrura society up to the standards of The Circle of Roots. Ultimately The Circle decides who becomes the next pack leader, and looks for someone strong and dependable.   In independent packs, with no set rules outside the pack, leaders can come to power in any such way. Either be voted in by the rest of the pack or seized by force.

The Leader of the Pack oversees all other roles within the pack, as well as stands to defend at any time. The leader is responsible for protecting each and every member of the pack.

The highest the job within the individual pack, each member looks up to the leader and gives the highest respect is given to them.

Before The Circle of Roots was established all packs operated by the law of nature; survival of the fittest. Physically strong leaders could seize control of packs by overpowering the current leader. The members of the existing pack at their mercy if this new leader was violent or cruel. Ambitious leaders could take over numerous packs and upset the balance within the pack, and within the surrounding area. When a leader abuses their people, the land often suffers as well. The Circle of Roots was established by a group of pack leaders wishing to secure the freedom and safety of their people, by holding leaders to a standard and accountable for their actions.

Leaders of the individual packs often have symbols of their status. Some have crowns, jewelry, amulets, great weapons or clothes that demonstrated they're the leader, and which pack.

The headquarters of The Leader varies between the packs. For example; The Leader of River Rock resides in the village of Stone Eye and has a throne in the center of the village used for announcements, greeting visitors and official decrees. Many leaders conduct the rest of their official business, like holding private meetings in their own homes.
