The Oddcrura, a species similar to humans in intelligence and mastery of the world around them. Since their arrival on the planet humans are no longer the only dominant species.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Six limbed humanoid creatures. Most of their bodies are covered in thick fur, except for their faces which are remarkably human-like. The Oddcrura's silhouette resembles the mythological centaur; four limbs are legs and two are arms.
They have bestial hands tipped with claws, and typically possess all the same motor skills as human hands. Their forelegs end in large paws with retractile claws, similar in structure to their hands but not prehensile. Unlike any of their other limbs, the back legs of the oddcrura are hooved.
Genetics and Reproduction
Oddcrura are mammals, they reproduce sexually and carry their offspring for 12 months before they are born. Oddcrura typically have only one oddlet per pregnancy, twins being uncommon but not rare, and triplets rare.
Growth Rate & Stages
Oddcrura mature at a rate similar to humans until they reach adulthood, then their rate of aging slows down compared to humans. Oddcura typically tend to live longer than humans.
Young oddcrura, called oddlets, are raised by adults, and not considered to be able to fend for themselves until they are 15 years old, and not deemed mature until they are 20 years old.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Oddcrura mostly consume meat for their diet. They Occasionally eat fruit, nuts and root vegetables, but they eat these mostly as dessert or in addition to a meal of meat.
As resourceful beings they acquire their food through hunting, fishing and raising animals.
Additional Information
Facial characteristics
Oddcrura faces are often furless, with occasionally facial hair like whiskers on males. Their faces look similar to humans, in the placement of their features, but with larger sharper teeth and bestial ears on the top of their head.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Oddcrura possess a sharper set of senses then humans. Hearing is their strongest sense; most oddcrura have large ears. Their sense of smell is only marginally better than a humans. The Oddcrura are sensitive to seasonal and weather changes.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Different Packs tend to name their children based on important things around home. Such as types of plants, rocks, animals and items, almost always natural things.
Oddcrura without packs don't always follow a naming theme, and sometimes throw together syllables to create names.
Major Organizations
Larger packs include The Wooded Hallow, The Shallow Isles and The River Rock. They are all over seen by The Circle of Roots.

Beauty Ideals
Beauty Ideals can vary from pack to pack; but these are a few universal standards.
Having clean thick fur is seen by most as attractive, as well as clean hooves and claws.
The occasional scar is seen as attractive because it demonstrates an ability to survive danger.
Gender Ideals
Those born male will grow antlers when they get older, while oddcrura born female will not grow antlers. It is not uncommon for oddcrura, unsatisfied with their presenting gender, to adjust as they see fit. Male's once born female and with out antlers, sometimes make their own either from carved wood or metal. Some female oddcrura if unsatisfied with being born to grow antlers may cut or shave down their antlers.
It is believed that Natura, the beloved deity of the Oddcrura, is beyond gender.

Courtship Ideals
Oddcrura with antlers can use decorations to signify an interest in finding a partner. Some, often those without antlers, might decorate their tail to express searching for a partner.
If there are no unrelated Oddcrura within age in the pack an Oddcrura can travel to nearby or further packs to find a partner or a packless in search of a partner. Meeting their partner, if they are both interested they exchange gifts ( the types of gifts vary from pack to pack) and stories of home.
If they are not currently in the same pack they must decide who will return home with who. Someone who is packless is often expected to follow the potential mate who is in a pack. If they are both in a pack they will decide which pack to return to in a number of ways depending on the individual Oddcrura and their packs.
More aggressive oddcrura and packs might settle this with a fight. With the loser following the winner to their pack.
Average Technological Level
The Oddcrura have skills in working with nature. They utilize agriculture and domestication of certain animals. They form tools often out of wood and stone, staying away from human debris thinking of it as tainted. Some packs have more specific cultural skills, such as The Wooded Hallow's skill for topiary, shaping young trees as they grow and wood carving.
Common Dress Code
Clothes are not usually seen as important if one has all or most of their fur. However cloth accessories are not frowned upon and are often seen as a symbol of one's self esteem and self expression.
Common Taboos
Having contact with humans and relationships with humans is greatly shunned upon.
Using human devices as well as remnants of human buildings is considered disgraceful. The objects of humans are tainted with a hatred for the Earth and nature.

Is it possible to make Oc's of this species ?? Like... Is it by chance an open species?/GenQ
Hey! I saw your question on toyhouse! I answered it there, but in the time since I've answered I've thought about it and I think I'll work up some rules and stuff for making them an open species!
