World Codex

A Compendium of the Known, the Rumored, and the Best Left Undisturbed
Fellow reader, scholar, or sea-tossed soul:
Within these pages lies the most complete and painstakingly assembled collection of knowledge regarding the vast and verdant continent of Ixalan, compiled at great expense and no small peril. Whether drawn from Legion records, corsair journals, captive confessions, or salt-stained rumors whispered over broken mugs in dockside taverns, each entry has been verified to the most rigorous of my abilities—or at the very least, corroborated by two or more suspiciously similar lies.
This work does not presume to be definitive. Rather, it is a living ledger of a land still unfolding, as jagged cliffs reveal ancient temples, as dense jungles belch forth lizards of impossible girth, and as every calm bay holds the promise of blood and discovery in equal measure. Herein you will find descriptions of the Sun Empire's rites, the vampiric theology of the Legion of Dusk, the infuriating ingenuity of the River Heralds, and the reckless dreams of the Brazen Coalition. You will also find fragments of stranger things: vanished cities, cursed relics, and names whispered only by the dying.
If you are a trader seeking leverage, a captain seeking safe harbor, a priest seeking converts, or a student seeking forbidden knowledge—then let this volume be your guide, your warning, and your challenge.
The world of Ixalan does not yield its secrets.
But it does, sometimes, trade them.
