Creative Practice Day 45

General Summary

Part three
  If I could paint
A terrible decision, really
I would paint three things

  The final entry
not last by merit
or by presence in my sphere
are trees

The dimmness of a forest is a blanket
that swallows me whole
enveloping my soul
in an arboreal embrace

There is a stillness beneath the fir and spruce in winter
it rests in the creekbeds of the mountain forests
what magic remains in this world
hides there, in symphony with the roots evergreen

  mighty deciduous
stronger than the earth itself
oaks and maple, elm and willow
nothing can stop their roots
their strength and endless determination
inspires my own

  above all these
the aspen
a crown of waving gold
a single name repeated
across the entire forest
the sound of quakies rolls my soul
a treetide symphony that will never leave me

I want my roots to burrow into the earth with the trees
I want my heart to soar with the stormclouds high above
I want my eyes to ever be filled with the light of the stars
I cannot forget,
that in part
these things were made for me.
I am grateful
